If we play like we’re capable of and don’t take a half off, this should be a beat down. TTU does not appear to be a good team. Blow out losses to mid-majors, loss to a D2 school; this game shouldn’t be close.

I like the way Coach S makes adjustments at half time and we usually out play the team in the second half. This is a complete turn around for last year. The team is obviously still coming together and learning how to play together. When we get to where we can play like that for most of the 40 minutes we should be very competitive in the conference by January. Cannot wait for tomorrow's tip off!

They've had a really weird start and some bad losses... but they've also had single digit losses to Murray State, UTC, and Western Carolina. Hope the team that lost to North Alabama by 15, Austin Peay by 40, and Lipscomb by 30 shows up.

......and hey, we lost to Peay by *more* than 40! In a different sport - but one in which it's even harder to achieve that dubious result. So........once again......."that's why they play the game".

So far Bucs look lethargica and uninspired. We could easily be down 15; we could easily lose this game unless we wake up.

Dumb shot by the Bucs at the end of the half.

That was some pretty bad hoops right there. At least we hit our FTs for a change.
11 (ELEVEN!) blocks; 5 by Parker. That's probably not a record, altho it could be. Almost certainly top 10 all-time for ETSU.

Justice Smith has 'developed', or accentuated, a little hitch in his shot. It used to be almost textbook. Tonight it was very far from it.

Very, very fortunate to have Peterson wearing the blue & gold this game.

I am glad we got the win. Too close at the end for me! I am thinking in a month or so we learn how to close out games like this and put the other team away. But it was so much better than a loss!

We hit free throws and that saved us - and of course Quimari Peterson. But I saw more out of the bench - he didn’t score but Ilic made some big defensive plays. Out defense is good - and getting better. Tyler Rice hitting those free throws at the end ultimately sealed the game. He misses one we are in OT - missed both we lose. It shows that we didn’t play our best game - far from it - but still got the win.

I'm not where I can easily check the stats now......but I'm pretty sure Ilic hit a 3. May have been his only shot. I thought having him play more would have been a good idea, as he would draw their huge guy out - not that he could've stopped Ilic's shots out there.

[edit/update: Yes, Ilic did have a bucket, but it was a 2 rather than a 3.]

RE: Official Game Thread: Tennessee Tech
They had 2 or 3 very good players and I see by looking at their roster previous schools such as West Virginia, Marshall, JMU, FAU, etc. listed. And their coach played at Kentucky, coached at Arkansas and brother of ETSU great Jerry - John Pelphrey. So I’m not surprised they gave us a tough contest and it certainly could have gone down as a loss.

Speaking of roster, has the athletic department stopped printing these for games? And while you’re checking on that see if you can fix the sound in FH. Can’t hear Brandon or the videos very well.

The Bucs cannot score consistently enough to blow out a D1 team. Ladies team has the same problem. Very tough and physical team, though. All these close games should help come tournament time.
I've seen TN Tech twice. Watched most of their game against Western and then yesterday. In those 2 games they certainly did not look like their results indicate they are. #13 is really good.

Other than Asamoah, Bucs are 26% on 3 pointers so far.

It would it be lower if we weren't so good at banking them in.
