RE: Mike Aresco is Retiring
Isn’t he 73? The fight might be wearing on him, but seem like it might just be an age thing.

Right before the expanded playoff too. Hopefully we get someone strong and vocal and not a Judy MacLeod type.

RE: Mike Aresco is Retiring
This is going to be a massive hire for our future. I hope we get a vocal war dog who is passionate and maybe looks to expand more aggressively than Aresco. I’d love to inflate to 16-20 team and establish ourselves as a clear top 5 conference if you drop the weird P2 that exists right now with OSU and WSU

RE: Mike Aresco is Retiring
Haven't seen it posted here yet, but OSU/WSU are entering a scheduling alliance with the MWC for next year, where they'll each play 6 opponents. As for beyond, this seems to point toward the PAC attempting to stay alive via raiding the best of the rest. We're gonna get cucked again like a Liberty president.

If we all collectively allow Wazzu and Ore st to split us up, we all deserve what we get.

Who will be the commissioner of the PAC? That just seems too much trouble but we shall see how next year goes. They should just merge with the MWC.
Even if they did raid and try to rebuild the PAC, they would not be making the same money as they were. Yes, they still have those tournament credits, but after that, if they thought they had trouble getting a media deal with the PAC 12, wait until it's the two state schools and a few random western G5 schools.

RE: Mike Aresco is Retiring
If they simply merge with the MWC don't all of the Pac12 credits go away since the PAC no longer exists?

RE: Mike Aresco is Retiring
I think there's virtually zero chance they merge with the Mountain West under the MW name. They might invite the entire Mountain West to join them and dissolve, but more likely that they cherry pick. They have at least another year to figure it out and there's a lot they don't control. They are never going to do any of it until they are out of options and have to.
