RE: Kentucky
Thanks Zorch! Everyone is on the other board now but today was big. Hawks have a chance to be good if they stay true to the game plan and stay mentally tough. That has been our problem lately but not today.

Thanks. Nice old school intra-conference 'attaboy'!

There used to be a board called the CAA Zone that was great - it was run by a George Mason fan, so it went defunct when they left. In those days the conference was a lot smaller, and the board was set up in a way that there was a LOT more conference-wide discussion between schools' fans.

For the most part, everyone pulled for each other's teams in OOC play. It was a lot of fun when someone got a big nonconference win, as everyone knew that the win increased the value of their own school's currency. It all really peaked in 2006 when the CAA was a three bid league, and had its second Final Four team.

When things more or less found their way to this board the "General" conference banter was orders of magnitude less, in part because of the way this board is set up. You have to kind of go find it if what you've bookmarked is your own school's page.

Now, it seems that in many cases (UNCW for sure) things have moved to Discord - which makes for more lively short term discussions (like live chat during a game) , but forget going back and revisiting discussions in the past or adding to existing threads. And zero conference-wide interaction unless you go to some other teams discord page.

To me it's been a sad progression, and as all these new teams have been added there's basically little (actually, maybe no) connection between their fans and those of more legacy schools.

Yep. Remember it well. Was a longtime member of that board repping NU as well!

Wasn't it a great place?

Good times. I , for one, genuinely want every CAA school to win every OOC game. I don't want us to be 14 teams all fighting over the same one-bid chicken bone at NCAA dinner table.
