UMKC
Opening line UMKC -9 total 142 1/2.

It looks like most of you have already given up on the season. I haven't. I think we have a lot of talent on this team they just have to learn how to play together and learn their roles within the team game. Adam Larson seems to be about the only one to know what his role is, score. I don't know how long it will take. It may not even happen this year (we only have one senior on the team). But eventually I think this will be a pretty good team. I do know we really need Branson and Clark back.

I agree there's talent. The lack of experience at this level, both individually and collectively, is obviously evident. Good coaching will make a huge difference, including balancing the mental and emotional part of growing these guys up and building confidence by continuing to acknowledge progress even though it may not result in winning many games for a little while. It takes time and will be interesting to see how everyone responds. I also agree having Branson and Clark back is vital with their experience, energy, and leadership.

Mediocre teams always rush their offense

44 points against UMKC
I knew the offense would struggle but couldn't imagine it being this bad

RE: UMKC
I didn't think it was possible for a SEMO team to be this bad on the offensive end. I'm afraid this is going to be a painful learning year for this team.

Yep. Right now it's pretty brutal. There has to be a mental element playing into this because it shouldn't be THIS bad. It's not like most of these guys weren't scorers in high school...although I understand not proven at this level.

This is probably old news to many but I just saw where Phillip Russell had to sit out this year after transferring. I do wonder what kind of a difference he could have made between him being a pure scorer and creating his own shots as well as good ball distribution. But alas...

We just don't have scorers and shot makers like Russell or Harris
