Does anyone know why our logo behind home plate is the exact font and style as the one for the Marshall Amp company?

I know our results in most sports have yet to show it out, but I truly feel we are trying. Across the board. Multiple sports. We are trying to get better at everything. We don't have it quite right just yet but we're working on it. That's my hope.

For those who don't know, this is Marshall Baseballs first on campus field. Ever.

We won't be a conference push over for very much longer.

Part of me wonders if adding a baseball facility on campus was a condition of membership for Marshall. I know the Sun Belt has pushed other directives/preferences to other Sun Belt members before. Either way, it’s a happy day for Marshall fans. Congrats, it’s looking nice!

No. We have been pushing to make a facility like this for decades. This was planned well before coming to the Sun Belt.

Interesting. It's in the Henderson Center as well, but is the correct old school script official logo there, and on merch.

Surprised that got screwed up by someone. Because it's not even close.

This was supposed to be done in 2021, then COVID happened and the original site chosen was going to go way over budget moving utilities, etc. Like $10M over budget. But we actually got the ball rolling on the project well before the SBC was conceived as our new home. They may have pushed to get it done by a certain date or season once we knew we were coming here.

We may very well have had that logo longer than Marshall has been making amps. Marshall University has been around a very long time. It may indeed be the amp company who came to use it, second. I remember the script logo on notebooks and stuff from the early 70s and have no idea how far that goes back before then. Neither is diluting the brand of the other, so it's probably not something ever contested.

I always liked the more academic John Marshall head coin/seal logo, too, from back then.

Yeah, this was just more of me being curious about something than complaining about either one taking the others logo/branding. I decided to look up when Marshall Amplification was founded and came across this. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
