Personally the way football divisions are happening, it seems to me it will be like baseball- american league and national league. I believe P5 should split into "american league" and "national league" as it were. The G5 teams being the semi-pro "farm" teams that feed the P5 teams. Players are getting sent to the farm teams via the portal anyway, and vice versa. Elements are already in place.

This is what I said when the Transfer Portal was introduced. Why would a Power school have 30 guys that can play at this level when they can have 60?

Things eternally just around the corner:
1. Fusion power.
2. Artificial General Intelligence.
3. The Power 5 split in the NCAA.

Then you just have the Alabamas, Texas, Oklahomas, Ohio States, USCs, and Michigans fighting it out for all the glory, paying their coaches 50 million a year.

The bottom teams are/will be the new buy games. The networks decided that and NIL has cemented it. They will stay if the TV money makes up for the empty seats. Make a P1 of 16-20 markets/budget schools and the rest of us play college ball because college fandom is not the same as pro fandom.

Would have already happened….but, the hang up is there is no New York or east coast P5 that can gain that market. They are all about pro ball. The media giants have to have that market to shell out the big bucks needed to blow up the ncaa.

What will happen is that once the P2 have all they want they will go to performance based payouts. I think we already know who will end up at the bottom so they will be unofficially relegated. They can decide if they want to hover around the Mendoza line or drop down to AAA and make the same money but with better seasons.
