While i LOVE the enthusiasm, lol i recommend maybe temper the expectations. Georgia Tech is not very good. Aziz is going to have a very good season but he's not going to be the runaway best player in the country that kmart was.
Agreed! Kenyon was a different beast. So strong and he could get the ball whenever he wanted to. If he was posting you up and wanted to ball, he was getting it and he had the power to go through you and the moves to shoot over you. Aziz doesn't seem near as strong. Aziz is going to be a baller, but Kenyon was on a completely different level. Even my UK buddy said if he didn't get hurt, they walk to the NC as nobody had an answer for him and we had so many other options.

I hope, HOPE Aziz has a dominating season.
But to compare him to the second best basketball player ever to lace them up at UC (Oscar the GOAT) is wrong, and dismissive of Kenyon.

Comparing him is dismissive? Sorry, don't agree on that one. No one is saying he's Kenyon. Comparing his stats with Aziz through their first three years shows Aziz is in the ballpark. Again, Kenyon wasn't all world before his Senior year. He took a yuuge step between his Junior and Senior years. Oscar Robertson is the only sacred cow in Cincinnati hoops. There is NO [will ever be] comparison to him.

RE: Bandaogo
Probably a good thing when we have a player on the roster that is compared to Kenyon. Can't say the last time that has ever happened. Things are on the up and up indeed.

He reminded me of a younger Kenyon. It’s no disrespect to KMART. It’s The closest comparison that comes to mind.

He certainly electrified the crowd last Wednesday night when he entered the game in what had been a ho hum start for our 'Cats. Small sample size, but he appears to be the missing puzzle piece in making this Bearcat team complete. Whether he reaches Kenyon's level remains to be seen but suddenly, this season holds great promise.

Nice!!
I swear the other night I heard Queen “we are the champions” just when I was pulling into the garage. I blasted it and dreamed that we were going to win the national title in the next 10 years. My plan is, when we finally do, I’m gonna quietly slip out to my car (where the music engulfs me) and sit by myself and just blast that song and smile. One day we’re gonna get that championship. Wes (and Aziz) has me dreaming again!!
When we went to the final in ‘92, I had a goal of one final 4 a decade. People thought it was so conservative because Bob was killing it. But I was just hoping for long-term consistency and not get ahead of things too much. Then I changed to hoping for just one more final four in my lifetime.
This is a complete team with many returning players next year. Let’s hope for no injuries and a sweet 16 this year and go for a deep run next year.
