Asking not preaching because I don’t study it that deeply - what are thoughts here on our team returning in 2024. Are we in a serious rebuilding position or do we have enough known talent and opportunities returning for next year.

Next up is VMI at Zable, game 1 of the year.

No such thing as rebuilding, especially with the transfer portal. We’ll lose some players and gain some players but our staff and 2024 roster will be hellbent on winning. We’ll have to “rebuild” our reputation and status with voters.

VMI
@ Coastal
@ Wofford
Furman

to start. Go 3-0 heading into the game with a very tough Furman and we have something. 2-2 and we may have another tough season.

Anyway, get every recruit to sign their NLI 20 Dec and attract some proven transfers would be a fine start.

Beating Furman at Home would go a long way in rebuilding poll voting confidence as they probably will be a preseason top 10 team especially if they can have a deep run in the playoffs as the #7 seed.

A win over VMI would be a nice start. They knocked off ranked Western Carolina last weekend and cost them a spot in the playoffs. I’m hoping they bring the Corps down for the game. They did that in the past.

Game 2 at Coastal Carolina, we should be a significant underdog - but you never know. As we saw at Charlotte, G5 is not a huge reach in competition.

Anyway, we look to have a very attractive home schedule next year. VMI, Furman and Hampton are givens. I’m guessing we will also have Elon, one of either Delaware or Villanova and one of the New England teams.

Really really love getting VMI and Furman at Zable. Should be a lot of fun to start the year.

That's fantastic. Would love for him to have a full senior season to really show his stuff.

Of the 25 guys who walked on Senior Day five are returning. Jaedon Joyner, John Kearney, Mattijs Lasore, Imari Smith and Bronson Yoder are all listed on the 2024 roster.

Coastal is a more winnable FBS game, especially since their QB just transferred to NC State. We'll obviously still be underdogs, but it's the type of game where you'd at least like to see it come down to one or two drives in the 4th quarter.

With a healthy Yoder, we'd have been a playoff team this year and will be next year. Not sure we would have gotten that far in playoffs but we would have been in it this year. Hopefully, Albany plays well tonight and wins or at least makes it a game so that CAA gets more respect come seeding time next year. Go Great Danes!

Coach Matt Johns announced he’s leaving. Hope Coach Taylor absorbs the QB group responsibilities

I’d bet my money on Coach Taylor being the new QBs Coach. I think that helps the offense out a bit. I think Matt Johns did a good job with the QBs and recruited the position well.

RE: Tribe Football 2024
Anyone who saw the Montana game yesterday, brought back some fond memories of our old end zone seating and the impact it had on our games. Montana’s north end zone is populated by what they call the Griz crazies. They are loud throughout the game and really pump the home field environment. NDSU had 7 procedure penalties yesterday.

I miss the positioning at Zable. Our north end zone had the same culture, albeit smaller. Today it’s more of a picnic area. No enthusiasm.

I don’t care the cost of placing the stands back for the football season. If we want to create a better atmosphere at Zable, this to me would be a great place to start.

If we even approach filling the seats we have, we’d have an argument to re-install endzone bleachers. My family sat in those GA seats for years and we, too, miss that. Our home games are poorly attended

We finished 2nd only to Delaware in CAA attendance. We had 13,800 for homecoming. It’s just not true the games are poorly attended. People just don’t sit the entire time. They mill, they drink, etc.

It’s not Montana but it’s better than virtually all in the CAA.

The old debate of tix sold vs true attendance. Of the few games I attended, none approached even half capacity.
