2024 AAC Pre-season Baseball Thread
It is never too early to talk baseball!! Less than 100 days until opening day!!!

Some of the 2024 schedules are starting to be released, so the season will be here before we know it.

Rice has released their schedule:

https://riceowls.com/news/2023/10/17/202...e-unveiled

I'm sure a few others have too.

A few of Charlotte's OOC opponents have released theirs:

Opening weekend Charlotte hosts Virginia Tech.

Another ACC opponent, Niners travel to Clemson for a mid-week and the Tigers return to CLT to play in the Knights ballpark uptown.

Niners play at Campbell midweek in the Fayetteville Woodpeckers minor league park.

Post schedules here as they are released.

RE: 2024 AAC Pre-season Baseball Thread
I wonder how we'll stack up against the current teams in the AAC. UTSA has broken my heart these past two seasons. We're dominant in the regular season but come tournament time, we can't help but collapse.

I can confidently state that Rice will field a team. Beyond that it's anyone's guess.

All of that gray matter and they can't figure out how to win a simple ballgame?

I'm not surprised to see Memphis 6th.

But I'm totally surprised to see Tulane and Rice both picked behind Memphis.

What gives, Owls & Wave? I'm shocked.

USF has lots of talent as shown on the PreSeason All Conference Team. Wouldn’t be surprised if the Bulls end up in top 3 in league.

I know Rice has a great baseball tradition, but they have been going through some lean times the past few years. They are on their 3rd HC in 7 seasons. Cruz has shown a little improvement, and I hope he can get them back up and running.

This could become a REALLY good baseball conference if the programs with Omaha experience like Rice, Tulane, and Wichita State can return to prominence.

You can put WSU in pretty much a similar position as Rice. Coaching turnover, lean baseball years recently, and just living on tradition.

Agreed that this conference has huge potential with a lot of traditional powers with the new add-ons replacing the dregs that went to the Big 12.

What you say is true about the last 7 seasons.

It may be noted that Rice is also on its 3rd HC in 33 seasons.
