Most important thing again was the defensive effort. Cleveland State didn’t have many good looks in the 2nd half. Julius Ellerbe has been a fantastic addition. He can guard anyone on the court.
Hopefully we get Lovejoy and Rice back soon. Didn’t have much in the way of guard depth today. Thankfully it didn’t matter. 2-0 in games against similar competition. I’ll take it, after last year.
Agree. Cleveland St may not have shot the ball well, but they have some great athletes. Enaruna was clearly the best big on the court, but they all swarmed to the offensive glass and hurt us in the first half. Who knew Lowder could be such a pain in the ass pressuring the dribbler? These guys can be scary if their shots fall.
The "crime dog" McGriff needs to spend a bunch of time practicing free throws. A ball-handling guard that can't shoot free throws is useless at crunch time.

Admittedly this recognition should have never occurred while the student body (plus no pep band) was on Thanksg break. This recognition should have occurred perhaps during one of our bigger crowds against a MAC opponent sometime In January. Why hold an important event in OOC before thanksgiving????
