We have way too many people from NJ/PA/NY and Northern Virginia, App wins that one easily.

New Jersey sells 190 proof Everclear so they can bring that down for a legal batch of apple pie. As for actual shine it's mostly out of southwest VA and likely as close (or closer) to Boone than Harrisonburg.

I live in the "moonshine capital of the world" Franklin County, VA. We're slightly closer to Harrisonburg.

My actual shine comes through Forest (also technically closer to JMU) and its likely plenty of it originated in Franklin County.

I'm still willing to give this one to App. Radford or Ferrum vs App St would be a better match-up as I saw more homebrew beer, and probably more balloon wine, than shine at JMU.

Yeah, both my parents are from the Shenandoah Valley. They live there now along with a lot of my extended family going back many generations. My grandfather made some fruit wines in the basement but never heard of much moonshining.

Anyone that’s familiar with Franklin County and interested in the moonshine trade during prohibition there’s a great historical fiction book “Wettest County in the World” based on true events. It was adapted into the movie Lawless in 2012.

We have a tasting room for the legal stuff just down the road which is a fun but the bootlegged stuff is still readily available, cheaper and stronger.

I think I could live either way. If App wins, that gives us a shot to win the East without the transition rule coming into play with a win over JMU to close the season...but is more risky. If JMU wins, App is eliminated from contention with only GS to worry about.

We have much better beer, less yankees, our moonshine comes without labels and I-81 doesn't go near us.

Our local craft beer is Coors Light, we have more Mennonites, no students have gone blind from alcohol poisoning since 1978, and I-81 runs literally through the middle of campus.

I want JMU to win for none of the reasons entered. I want them to win to see all the BS surrounding their season and eligibility come to fruition. I want to see the NCAA crucified or laughed at for not granting the waiver or for granting it, having painted themselves into a corner. I want to see the App fans explain why they would still deserve to be in the championship without having earned it (and they will, ad nauseum). I root for chaos and that's the closest we get to it.

Absolutely. I thought the NCAA’s denial of the first waiver request was ridiculous. Basically said, “We can’t explain the reason the rule still exists, we won’t comment on your argument that you’ve already met FBS requirements, but just ‘no’ on principle.”
