Substantiate your inference! When has Alabama last been even accused of wrong doing? I'm no Tide fan but Nick has run a pretty clean program. Making these kinds of message board troll posts without a specific instance to point to for comparison is bad form. This isn't a smack board. And Just Joe didn't criticize, he made an inference to a specific time for their turnaround.

Like two off seasons ago by Jimbo Fisher who claimed to “know where the bodies were buried”. His words not mine.

Jimbo is one to be talking! The whole Jameis Winston / Tallahassee PD Coed rape case had a lot of bodies and lost evidence. I wouldn't put much stock in what Jimbo has to say. And that was true when he was an assistant at Auburn. Saban runs a much tighter ship. Jimbo if he makes the claims should present the evidence. Until someone does all you have is gossip. Allegations require investigation, and why they are not formally made says a lot about their merit. When someone has the goods the file an allegation of wrongdoing with evidence, when they don't, they know the rumors are potentially specious and they are afraid of liabilty.

The last time Alabama was dirty, so too was Tennessee and the Albert Means case is there for all to read. But that wasn't Saban and it cost Phil Fulmer his standing in the SEC.

I personally followed up on allegations and rumors for over a decade leading to two sanctions of consequence and a lot of dropped recruits, which is how these things usually end. Somebody notifies the University President of a substantiated violation and the President calls the AD and the AD orders the assistant coach (usually) to drop the recruitment of the young man who is the object of their attention. Usually those with the goods drop the matter when the school drops the recruitment. If they don't drop the recruitment the allegations are filed with those who can impose penalties, the conference or NCAA, or both.

Most of the chat on message boards about cheating isn't based in reality but is based in envy with fans trying to create a fire where there isn't even smoke. Documenting the impermissible benefit, the coach involved, the recruit involved, the time and place it occurred go a long way with the right authorities. My favorite was a kid in a Podunk town in Georgia who got a brand new convertible with the pursuing school's logo on the front license plate holder. It was too classic! Most violations are money, money for parents, etc., but that has morphed into a kind of cheating that is damned hard to prove, a State job for a relative of the player or a relative of his fiancée or girlfriend, which is handled by a graduate of the State's leading law school who has managed to parlay a law degree into a state Congressional term. In a lot of States there is one prominent law school whose graduates become attorneys and if in a smaller county almost always tack on a Congressional seat with the State, and most of those serving with him/her there are also graduates of the same law school. In that situation getting access to civil service exams is nearly impossible, proving that favoritism was shown is also deuce difficult, and good luck getting a subpoena for a State Representative when it comes to an athletic scholarship.

This doesn't happen in Florida, or California or any large state with many solid law schools and with State Houses filled by graduates from multiple law schools. But in small states where one schools is engineering and agricultural and the other is Medical and Legal, it happens more than can be proven.

But, I should add, since NIL was legalized, there isn't much need for anyone to take a risk on "impermissible benefits" when there is a direct way to influence choices which is now legal.

Absolutely true. This has me wondering now, what will constitute a “serious violation” going forward? Probably something more than scounting and sign stealing, which could be made moot soon. Are we done with “athletics related” major scandals? I somehow doubt it, but I wonder if we aren’t going to get a full plate of minor B1G infractions fed by the ESPN hype train over the next decade.

This all ends with the creation of an upper tier. The new structure will codify its own set of rules and they'll likely hire an independent enforcement agency to handle it. So much of it goes away with paying players and NIL. Contracts will spell out acceptable performance whether for coaches or players. I suspect fines will replace sanctions and penalties impacting rosters.

Time will tell if other nefarious actions have taken place from mICHIGAN towards Michigan State and/or other BIG members. mICHIGAN the university has a long and well documented history of dealing dirty with Michigan State on and off the field.

The Mark Dantonio era was great for Michigan State and I assume came to an end on its own accord.

GO GREEN!
GO WHITE!

And as always.... Hell! Hell! with mICHIGAN

It's burgers. Come to Michigan, get impermissible burgers and sign charts. We've been busted.

We are talking about 18 year old boys. They are not as useful as the sports cars ... but if they are really good burgers, I wouldn't totally discount them.

"Impermissible Burgers" are the talk of the town in Ann Arbor.

I can't think of the name, but isn't there some famous burger place in Ann Arbor that will put as many patties on as you want or something like that?

I want to say I've seen it a couple of time on Food Network or something like that.
