Rice is 2-0 after a road win last night at the WAC’s Abilene Christian (69-58)

Kind of a rough one, we’ve got some incoming freshmen who can play but the team is still trying to get sync.

How’s opening week going at your school?

UConn is gone. Unless you have something to brag about is this kind of like the Memphis rifle thread?

USF took care of Texas Arlington 76-61

USF played without its leading returning scorer Sammie Puisis but had 4 players in double digit scoring. Two were newcomers, a transfer from Auburn and a freshman from Spain.

This is the deepest team USF has had that I can remember. 12 players played in opener.

USF hosts Stetson today. Stetson is 0-1 losing opener at Tulane by 11

The thing about women's college basketball is you have a lot of high school level teams .... or at least more than you would think. Which means at the beginning of the season, when coaches are trying to rack up victories, you will see a lot of lopsided scores. Memphis, who lost the first game of the season, was beating some team the other day at halftime 55 to 12.

UConn was and is elite.

SoFlo is your coach’s preseason favorite again, and has been ranked consistently especially since UConn’s departure.

We were a 2-bid league last year and both teams (USF and ECU) are still in the AAC and both looking promising again this season.

Rice (3rd in the preseason coaches poll) is traditionally strong and an NCAA regular, but missed the NCAA’s last season.

SMU and Memphis round out the top five in the preseason poll.

I’d say we are borderline multi-bid league this year, and just like FB and MBB the OOC portion will tell the tale on how Conference play will benefit (or hinder) our SoS and at-large prospects.

South Florida showed flashes last year that they could hang with top 10 national teams (and even notched a few big wins) but also stumbled at times.

Our coach does a good job in recruiting and building competitive teams. We have been ranked often in top 25.
He also plays a tough out of conference schedule. This year we play

Arizona State- US Virgin Islands
Texas- US Virgin Islands
NCState- Tampa
Baylor- West Pam Beach

ECU wins our home opener with a 70 point win over USC-Upstate.

USF struggled but beat Stetson 67-55 to go 2-0. Still missing leading scorer

UTSA got a win vs NMSU Friday 58-55 in the /other/ love-in on I-10.

Welp… AAC Texas teams 0-2 this afternoon as Rice loses by 25 and UNT by 19. Tulsa did pick up a win at home today so there’s that.

5 unbeatens remain: ECU SMU USF Tulsa UAB.
