In 2020, Grayson was into his 3rd start when I started commenting to friends that he was the best QB I’d ever seen at Coastal. Interesting since Tyler Thigpen and Alex Ross were pretty remarkable in their own right. But I’m telling you now, Ethan Vasko is going to be a special QB. Grayson special even. I can’t see Guest starting another game here tbh.

Can you point to a penalty that was not justified? Were the refs constantly sacking your QB? Did the refs decide to run right at a defensive front that was dominating the LOS all game?

To me it just seemed like you guys had an off game and it got worse as Coastal took a larger lead. Boneheaded penalties and an offensive game plan that did not work against Coastal’s D.

Just saying if JMU plays a mostly clean game and if CCU were to get the exact same calls against them that TXST got in this game and I would have a hard time seeing how CCU loses by much less than they did against JMU last year

Define dominating. TXST had 150 yards in the 1st quarter while CCU had less than 40 yards. You can’t say with a straight face that that pace of play would not have continued if TXST didn’t have the wind taken out of the sails on BOTH sides of the ball every single remaining drive from the 2nd quarter onward.

Tim Beck’s game plan at half was to commit 1/5of the penalties as the opponent. That’s a pretty pathetic game plan. That’s literally the only thing that Beck or the team did any differently or anything better than its opponent

That's the question I was going to ask as well! I thought maybe I dozed off while we were starting to dominate the Robert Cats and missed commentary about Finley's disappearance. I initially predicted he was going to settle down and make it a shootout in the second half...
