I cried... seriously. Best memories from my childhood were getting tickets to right field at Arlington Stadium with my dad and grandfather. About time! I also have forgiven Nelson Cruz now.

Toby Harrah, Bump Wills, Jim Sundberg, etc, etc. Magical names from my childhood days at Arlington Stadium were what were in my [/i]head last night after every pitch in the bottom of the ninth.
Those days were almost 50 years ago. A whole lot of life has happened in that time. Deaths, births, friends come and gone.
Ended up being quite the emotional experience. Still haven’t come to grips with it completely.

RE: HOW 'BOUT THEM RANGERS!!
As a kid grew up watching games on Channel 11 with Larry Parrish, Pete Incavigia, Oddibie McDowell, Pete O'Brien and Coach Bobby Valentine. Later came lots of good times with my fake ID and $10 beers in the cheap seats at the old stadium. Many letdowns and heartbreaks over the years, but NEVER a doormat. Like the Dallas Mavs of old, the Rangers have always been fun to watch and maintained a loyal following and longstanding rivalries. Rangers vs. Angels on a Friday night in August never disappointed for some riveting drama. We could never get/keep good pitching due to the oppressive heat and outdoor stadium combo (except for the GOAT Nolan, of course), but we'd sure put up 10 runs in a hurry! Rangers have ALWAYS been down for a good slugfest!! So happy for those great Ranger players and personalities through the years that helped paved the way. This Bud's for YOU!! 04-cheers 04-drinky

RE: HOW 'BOUT THEM RANGERS!!
It did seem surreal watching the last three innings. It was like lightning struck in he same place twice. I haven’t watched baseball in years. Lord knows the Rangers tormented me in my youth. What’s scary is that every player y’all named I remember watching them play.

Even remember watching knuckleballer Charlie Hough. You don’t see knuckleballers in MLB anymore.

I was even there the night Nolan beat the dog sausage out of that punk playing for the White Sox. That game was just another Ranger blow out loss. Just what you come to expect with the Rangers.

I can understand tears if you endured years of futility and despair.

Another huge disappointment for me came in the strike season where the MLB decided on two division champions for playoffs one before the strike and one after. The Rangers had the best record overall but finished second both times. If was the snakebite that was being a Rangers fan you came to expect.

The curse of the Washington Senators has finally been lifted.
