Marshall at App State - Saturday, Nov. 4, 6 p.m. - NFL Network
Does either team feel going into this one? No. But there's old hatred.
A team that can't move the ball versus a team that can't stop anybody.
The Sun Belt is calling this The Old Mountain Feud. Sure, why not.
First Saturday night game in Boone since 2014. First Saturday game in Boone versus Marshall since 1996.
Both teams are 4-4, so both sides will claim the other team will win. Loser is in last place in the East and faces a tough hill for a bowl bid, and fans will be counting buyout money.
Also, the visitors' tunnel at KBS is now cordoned off from the general public and there's a covering over it, so no one's can Xweet that their life is in danger and get a signal boosting Kirk Herbstreit Quote Xweet.
Georgia Southern sucks.
Game is at 6 p.m., so we might go blind from the shine beforehand.

Marshall and App State fans are interesting groups of people for sure. There's a good chance they'll just both drown their sorrows pregame and watch in a confusing level of peace and harmony, each awaiting their team to implode at any time, rooting for success but ready to just throw up their hands and laugh at failure.

Exactly. Something’s got to give one way or the other…but damn if I know which way.

App's defense is giving up on average 130 yards per game more than their Belt opponents are averaging on the year. If that trend continues, Marshall's looking at 500 yards in total offense Saturday. Our four opponents to date are also averaging 9 more points per game than their seasonal average.

I think this could get ugly in a hurry, if I am App and win the toss I take the ball. We seem to give up a seventy yard pass or run on every opening drive by our opponent.

If we start Cam Fancher, expect an angry and upset Marshall fanbase here. Half of our O will come from Fancher not reading his routes, attempting to scramble when it's too late for a two yard rush. And underutilizing Rasheen Ali.
If we start Cole Pennington, expect an App State victory, but about 2/3 of the Marshall fanbase here understanding it's gonna take a few of these learning the ropes games to build towards the future. And underutilizing Rasheen Ali.
So the only constant is gonna be an App State win, and Marshall underutilizing Rasheen Ali.
