That's the key. If UC wants to schedule neutral site games against other P5 opponents I'm all for it. Just not at the expense of a home game in a home-and-home series. If UC get's out the game at Nebraska I'll consider this a wash.

You have to admit that the Colt's stadium will be a lot more comfortable on a 90 degree August day than being jammed in tighter than a turtle's pecker at Nippert with some 350 pound slob that's taking up his seat and yours sweating all over you.
It actually sounds like we didn't lose a home game either, so, to me, this is a pretty good move.
How do you figure?
The 2025 home game against Nebraska was moved to Indianapolis. And we added a 2032 away game at Nebraska. Is there something I missed?
They dropped the WKU away game and are adding a home game to replace it...so we are going to have 7 home games that season along with this neutral site game.
If so, it makes sense. UC can fill Nippert for seven home games regardless of opponent and I suspect will have a big payday for that neutral site game. From a revenue standpoint, a much better option than traveling to Bowling Green, KY to play WKU.

I guarantee you Nebraska will bring 20-30k to that game.

UC gets 75% of every ticket sold, the more the merrier.....Cunningham also stated that between the expected revenue from this game plus the other three buyouts we had to pay and other expenses UC would just about break even during this time period.....

Are you sure? For their Nov. 19 game vs. Wisconsin last year, scanned tickets at the gate "dipped below 50,000."
This year’s game against Minnesota -- at 57,730 -- became the "third game to have fewer than 60,000 scanned tickets since the Omaha World-Herald started charting the totals.” These numbers "differ significantly from official attendance figures -- routinely in the upper 80,000s -- in part because scanned ticket data doesn’t include media, players, coaches, support staff, concession workers and others who might be included in the announced attendance.”

Yeah.
And if Rhule gets them going in the right direction next year, they'll pack the place.

RE: Nebraska football series
I said this over on the Conference board...
For almost 20 years, "Indiana" has been a priority for expanding both recruiting and fans. The Southeastern quadrant of the State...bounded by I-65, US 40, and the Ohio and Kentucky State lines, is really underserved for CFB fans. Up north, there's Purdue or Notre Dame, in the Southwest/west there's IU, but for the SE quarter of the state there's a CFB vacuum. So a UC game in Indy makes sense.
What we have to do is two-fold:
1) UC fans need to show up well... We have to have PLENTY of UC "red-and-black" and noise there. And..
2) UC needs to win in a decisive fashion.
If we do these two things, it will be a success.

Good insight and I concur. We lived and worked in Batesville, IN for several years, decades ago. I envisioned an imaginary line somewhere between Greensburg and Batesville along I-74 that seems to divide loyalties between Indianapolis and Cincinnati--for sports, media, shopping, dining, and college affinities. Expanding the UC footprint for in-state tuition will bring more kids from many of those counties. And UC has had some fine players from East Central High School and many years at Camp Higher Ground, so there is already some sense of connection. There is opportunity there to grow the Bearcats' area of influence and interest.

My understanding is Nebraska was willing to pay the buyout, this $ figure is way more than that and only 1.5 hours from Cincinnati. Not thrilled, but better than what we would have had.

Assuming that's correct, the deal makes sense.
Some folks forget that UC isn't instantly getting Big 12 legacy money commensurate with figures reported in the new media deal, so the cash flow the next couple of years won't truly be at a P5 level yet.
Short drive, climate controlled venue, "big brand" opponent and a chance for UC to showcase competitive progress (we hope). I'm in.
