Wright was benched during the 4th quarter of our opener against Army and lost the starting QB position for the next game. Our backup got injured and Wright got a second chance. He looks so much better now than he did against Army. He's deceptively quick on his feet...he just needs more consistency in his passing.

Our defense played well and were the only reason we were still in the game until the very end.

Texas State's defense made some big plays (thinking of that goal line stand) and their offense came alive in the 4th quarter. They earned this win.

I feel for ya . . . In the past, this is the type of game that we’d blow more often than not. To pull this one out sure feels great. Nothing’s Easy in The Fun Belt.

Last week my feed cut out with 4 minutes left. This week it cut out right after the ULM pick 6.

Getting really frustrated with ESPN+

However, this game is why I'm still not yet sold on the team. The D improved but the O almost forgot how to play.

Well, like everyone other game I’ve ever watched on the +, I had zero issues with streaming games yesterday, and I had this one on for the whole game.

Of the few times over the years I did have streaming issues, it was due to my internet provider, or even more importantly, my modem. But it was never espn’s fault.

I do I have a question for you tx state folks: for a school with a kazillion dollars*, how did you allow for your turf to get so crappy? Looks like it should’ve been replaced 4-5 years ago. What is the timeframe for that to happen?

*at least from our school’s perspective, lol

Internet was not out. I had MU/GSU going on ESPN2 and was on the forum...plus browsing during commercial breaks.

The current field turf was installed in 2016, replacing what we had installed in about 2010.

And don't get me wrong, folks. I'm coming around. Just been so deep in the disappointed/frustrated, who GAF doldrums that the climb back is a slow go.

Trying to be helpful here: my point was that your issue had nothing to do w/espn. If it’s happening often to you it would be worth it for you to work with your provider and figure out the root cause. My money would be on needing a better/faster modem.

That’s Cool, I get that. For Bobcat Fan, Disappointment and Heartbreak are never Far away. Speaking for myself, I’m lovin’ what I’m seeing. It ain’t always pretty, but it’s what I’ve wanted since ‘05. A U. Prez Not The Bun, an AD Not LT, a better than average HC, and a Team that has a chance to Win every time it steps on the field. 5-2/2-1 and even in those two losses, we still had a chance to win. We have been in every game we’ve played this year.

Some detractors wanna say, well, we’ve done it against teams with crappy records . . . I don’t care, and I guarantee that if Withers or SPAV were still HC, we wouldn’t be 5-2 right now, not even against so called teams with crappy records. ‘Cause those two Never saw a 5 win season.

Some are mad about the UTSA and UL loss, and don’t get me wrong, I’d of rather won those two as well. But be mindful of the culture we’re trying to overcome. That doesn’t happen overnight. You don’t come out of the womb running. You gotta learn how to crawl first, then to walk, and that’s where I think this program is right now . . . Learning to walk, and even that isn’t always pretty . . . you fall a lot, you get boo boos and bruises. But you pick yourself up and you get after it again.

With Withers and SPAV there was many a game where you could accurately say at halftime, well, this one’s over . . . and be absolutely right. I haven’t said that once this year.

We’ve been in every game, and while not always pretty, you can’t ask for much more. That runnin’ thing will come, but Baby still needs a little more time. For the first time in a long time, I can at least say that it seems like we’re on the right path . . . and If I’m wrong, well I’ve lived that Bobcat life far longer than I’ve lived this one. . ..
