RE: Mens basketball
Predicting who, if anyone, will emerge as our PG this year is risky. I don't like to make predictions without seeing a lot of game footage and we only have one full length game of Frankel from last year even though he did look solid in that game. He does have some other things going for him, though. He played for and practiced against the top prep school in the country. He shared the point with a Power five recruit so instead of ttyng to convert two guards into PGs he is a PG. I'm sticking with that prediction even though a lot of hope is involved.

PS. When he played for BABC he was ranked among the top point guard's in the EYBL.

I know he played at the same prep as Tomas Murphy but the Williams kid wouldn't be coming here to play behind Frankel if he was that good... that's all I'm saying.

In the meantime, we'll see if he can be better than Woods and King.

Hey Wiz....do you ever wonder why this site is called a discussion board? Because not much takes place in the way of discussions. What we have here is a couple of posters and a bunch of lurkers who contribute nothing in the way of information, points of view or other thoughts. When I post something I feel like I'm putting a message in a bottle and tossing it into a river. ....never to be seen again. Is there any point in trying to keep this site alive?

Wiz....guilty as charged ...but after hockey season is over your posts are all about baseball.....the one sport that I was lousy at and the one sport that I have no interest in. But I'm glad that you know how I feel.

I'm going to give this a little more thought before abandoning ship with only you still aboard.

Duly noted on baseball. You're a Mass native so I assumed you like baseball of any kind - even if you sucked at it. :)

I can't and won't talk about hoops a lot in the off season anymore until either we make a coaching change or I see vast improvements in recruiting and/or wins and losses. Hockey has supplanted hoops as far as popularity and being nationally relevant and baseball is an up and coming Top 25 program (was in the T25 for a week last year and anticipation is higher in 2024).

I can't tell you what to do. Head back to DHD if you want constant chatter, but to be honest, it's not the same anymore either...

Wiz, I have no idea how I could shine at other sports and be so bad at baseball/softball but when I played either I always got bruises all one my ankles. I don't think anyone ever got tossed from a company softball team but I came close after "the incident." It happened under the lights at a Boston Common field. It was a fast pitch league and our team had a great pitcher. Late in the game he had a no hitter going when a fly ball was hit to me in right field. I took a few steps and decided to play it safe and let the ball bounce and then throw it into the infield. After all, we were up big. Goodbye no hitter. Our pitcher just sat down on the mound.

NU News article on Sakota, who's going to play at PG.

The Plantar Fasciitis explains his dropping playing time as last year wore on. He started six or seven games, lost his starting job but still got a lot of minutes then his minutes kept dropping until late in the season he didn't play at all.
