Herd in SBC this year so far planned:
ESPN+
ESPNU
ESPN2
ESPN+
The CW
ESPN2
ESPN/ESPN2
5 national broadcasts in our first 7 games.
I mean, when you see that on paper, how can anyone wonder why Marshall, odu and usm wanted to get the hell out of cusa asap!

Who has ever said that?
I wouls love to see a link.
I'm pretty sure it was actually said on CUSA board, just by a group of fans whose teams are now in the AAC.
Saint was getting his favorite troll spots confused.
Sorry should have said cUSAAC. Stating facts and watching the world burn is my favorite past time.

You know we've made it big time when we bumped Riverdale.
Also, isn't the Marshall NC State game in movie theaters?

RE: Week 7 TV Games
This is really awesome. We're getting consistent weekend coverage on ESPN2, which has gigantic reach.
Whoever the poster is (BirdofParadise, maybe?) who claimed the SBC's TV deal was reworked was DEAD on.
Our games are getting selected over many AAC games.
Really positive stuff, and I don't think many Herd fans even realize how positive this is yet. To put this in perspective, I don't think Marshall has EVER had a weekend primetime conference game on ESPN or ESPN2 until now. We had some big games on FS1 in CUSA, and we've had dozens of big Thursday and Friday night games. However, unless I'm missing something, this is a first.

I believe the first rumor on here about the increased coverage was from a Marshall fan when they first joined. I believe it was Shane Mettlen, JMU's beat writer who first did the leg work from a reporter perspective.
But Bird is awesome, and we should just credit him anyway. He was a big advocate for the league in the Karl Benson/Wright Waters years. Even if they didn't listen to him.

There was a Marshall fan on here by the name of MUHERD76 that posted some shortly after Marshall had left CUSA. He came off as an insider and having information in regards to the media deal but I haven't seen him post here in a long time. Not clue if he actually had solid info or if he was just spitballing.
My favorite thing about this SBC board is there are posters here with legit contacts and have solid information. Cheifsfan, BirdsOfParadise, and I know there is a GA Southern poster but can't remember their name. My ears always perked up when you all posted durning the whole realignment deal a couple years back.

I don't know if this is true with the newbies, but multiple schools have Athletic Department staffers who read this board. We've got beat writers and team reporters who post on here as well.
I've been contacted multiple times by a member's athletic department in reference to something I posted here regarding a clarification I needed.
