The road to that game is rocky: we have to beat Georgia Southern in Harrisonburg, and Marshall has to go to Raleigh to play the Wolfpack and then is at GSU. It’s possible Marshall could be ranked with another P5 win and what should be a tough road win over what’s been a good Panther team.

I know Southern and GSU say go pound sand, but that would be a cherry game for a Gameday appearance if both teams’ records are spotless.

Agreed, shame it's on a Thursday and thus ineligible...

Frick, true, I knew that.

And to a similar point, definitely can't count out one MAC programs right now, specifically Ohio and Miami Ohio with a P5 win, if one of you run through the conference it's going to be interesting.

I think it's going to be nearly impossible for any of our teams to run through the Sun Belt.

The interesting thing is when Marshall and JMU play on Thursday October 19th, it's also the exact date and time that Rice plays at Tulsa.

So it will be very interesting to see which one ESPN chooses for regular ESPN.

If we're still undefeated, it will be us. Maybe even still with loss to NCState and undefeated JMU.

It's just listed as ESPN/ESPN2, but if the Rice-Tulsa game is the only other one on... snooze fest.

Who do you think will have a better game night atmosphere?

Pretty much guaranteed a budding rivalry game with top teams will win out.

I still remember our old ESPN Thursday night games when Lou Holtz, Rece Davis, and Mark May came.
Lou did a big spot on the Pumpkin House at Halloween.

Usually I feel a little nervous about my own teams upcoming games. Now I feel nervous for Marshall. Sure hope you win and remain undefeated. Huge game.

I mentioned this on a Herd board, but losing in the Sunbelt is not that big a deal. I want to kick NCState's butt and win them all, but I don't expect to beat all nor will be devastated to lose to SBC schools. Every single team this year has shown fight and resilience even in a loss. There are no gimmes. It's not CUSA anymore where there are 2-3 teams at the top and the rest are for padding wins. And I HATED dropping a game to Charlotte or the F_Us because they were garbage programs. There's none of that here. Every win feels like you barely made it out, alive. It's earned, not a given.

Plenty to worry about with GS, GSU, Marshall, and App to go - that's nuts...and then ending with UMcCall ... looking like 10-2 to me

8 wins = good
9 wins = great
10 wins = awesome
11-12 = better start going back to church because miracles do exist

Can't believe how much run the MTW is getting in the polls. Fresno St. & Wyoming, maybe. But AF? Their best win is an 18-point against Utah St. The others are SHSU, SJSU, SDSU, and Rober Morris. That equates to #29. Don't see it.

Well since JMU is ineligible, I say they take one for the team and make it look respectable. Access bowl, baby!

Nope your gonna have to earn that one, we wont just roll over and let ya have a free game. We have 1 game to go and Marshall has 2, before one of us has a loss. We have to win as many as we can so the Bowl Gods want us in one!

Hate to break it to you guys, but App is hanging an L on both you boys. 03-wink
