RE: 2023 Football Pick Contest - Week 5 (September 29-30)
Congratulations to this week's trio of winners, MadisonHawk, cubucks, and Buckminster Fuller, for winning the week with 9 points. I'd like to personally apologize to MadisonHawk and Buckminster Fuller as my Illini were the team that cost them a perfect 10 this week. cubucks did pick Purdue but picked Utah over Oregon State.

Per the rules introduced last week, 8 points is an automatic 1 rec point so those scoring 8 points will officially be recognized with a 2nd place prize (in normal weeks if there is a tie for 1st there is no 2nd place prize, only if you score 8 or more points or if there is an outright winner is there a 2nd place prize).

Buckminster Fuller takes over 1st place. It's the 3rd consecutive week we have a new leader at the top! Special note that MadisonHawk missed a week but got 19 out of 20 the last two weeks. Look out, I wouldn't be surprised to see MadisonHawk catch up by the end of the season.

Buckminster Fuller 39
SouthEastAlaska 38
andybible1995 38
cubucks 33

RE: 2023 Football Pick Contest - Week 5 (September 29-30)
Week 6 Games:

Oklahoma vs Texas at Dallas, noon, ABC
Maryland at Ohio State, noon, FOX, Big Nooner
LSU at Missouri, noon, ESPN
Washington State at UCLA, 3pm, Pac 12 Networks
Alabama at Texas A&M, 3:30pm, CBS
Syracuse at North Carolina, 3:30pm, ESPN
Kentucky at Georgia, 7pm, ESPN
Notre Dame at Louisville, 7:30pm, ABC
Fresno State at Wyoming, 8pm, FOX

I know Maryland-Ohio State and Kentucky-Georgia look obvious but Maryland and Kentucky are still both undefeated going into October and IMO deserve the spotlight.

Nominations are open for the 10th game but I got one I really want to pick...

William & Mary at Virginia, noon, ACCN!

UVa is currently the only winless P5 school and FCS W&M is obviously their best chance this year to win a game. They already had James Madison and blew that game. William & Mary is actually 4-1 in FCS this year and made the FCS playoffs last year. I mean if there was ever a chance for an FCS over P5 upset it would be it.

Would anyone even think about picking W&M over UVa if I chose the game or would I just be wasting my time? Do you have any other games in mind? In the history of the football pick contest, I have only featured one FCS team. In 2021, I picked Yale at Connecticut and 2 out of 10 pickers actually picked Yale!
