RE: Game Week EMU at CMU September 30
I am fired up for this game. One thing about CC and the teams he has assembled. They fight when their backs are against the wall. They are tough and resilient. There is no feeling sorry for this team, they will respond. This is what happens when a coach busts his a$$ to build a winning culture.

IF we get some guys back healthy
IF the coaches have Austin in good situations
IF we can get a pick 6 or special teams explosive play
IF we can get our defense to play like they have been
we stand a chance.
The guys on the Eastern podcast were speculating that EMU has been limiting Evans' playing time in order to have him fresh going into the MAC season. Might we see a heavy dose of Evans on Saturday?

Yes but the 1987 team had a fiery QB who could make winning plays when needed.

Adams was a special player! Also, in my opinion the two best DB in EMU history, Charles shutdown Gordon, and Bob Navarro! 36 seasons and counting.......

Ron Adams was clutch. Gary Patton was the man at RB.

The portal watch is on...
https://www.freep.com/story/sports/colle...981410007/
The problem is scholarships. We have NO mid-year scholarships to offer. We didn't even have one for Conti.
Any mid-year transfer would have to pay his way 2nd semester.

The way I understand it is that a kid can go in the portal now but stay in class at MSU, then transfer in January.

You mean like hit a 50 yard TD pass with 1:20 left?

That 1987 team actually lost to CMU, the only real blemish on the GREATEST season in EMU history.
Nevertheless, I am on board 100% with both of your aspirations. While I am distressed about our progress this far, EMU is my team, we have what we have, and I will be rooting hard for them on Saturday. I remember watching Buffalo run all over us last year in game four last season, leaving Rynearson in disgust and declaring the season a failure. That team then went 6-2 and absolutely obliterated our in-state rivals. Thus, I gotta trust Creighton. Go EMU!

I have to agree. In Athlon's 2023 season preview, they included a quote from an anonymous MAC assistant coach that said this of our Eagles:
"Take this as a compliment: They're dirty and mean. They want to fight you on every play. They'll fight you after the game. They don't get demoralized when they lose."
I believe it. It's part of the culture Creighton has established. This team has an incredible opportunity to bounce back against a CMU team that ranks second worst in the FBS for passing yards allowed. Obviously, things look bleak after the JSU game, but I'm not writing off the season just yet. We need guys to step up though. A big factor in our 6-2 run and bowl win was Powell's turnaround late in the season.

That maybe okay during the game but what I saw some players did to the Howard players as they came onto field before the game was outrageous! They pushed and shoved the Howard players around so they could kneel and pray to their god in that corner of the end zone. Unsportsmanlike at lowest level. We here at EMU would be outraged if it was done to our team!

Not sure how bringing up something that happened at the Howard game has anything to do with CMU, but I'm sorry you experienced that Super.
In regards to the CMU game.....I'm hopeful we get back on track. I think the team knows more than anyone that they haven't played to ther potential and Saturday is the perfect opportunity. Stuff the run, limit explosives, and get the passing game corrected and we stand a good chance.
I expect a real good crowd for the game. CMU is posting that parking lot tickers are sold out at a few sites. I look forward to a great game
