Raise a glass for Arkansas State, Louisiana, Troy, & ULM
You know who I’m happy for with the unprecedented success of the Sun Belt this season and in recent years?

The old guard.

stAte, Louisiana, and ULM have been all in on football from Day One of the SBC, and Troy has been there for all but the very beginning (I think they’re in Year 20, with this being SBC Football Year #23).

Those four schools laid the foundation and were left behind by other schools. They’ve been in this for the long haul. They’ve also, all four, had quite a few moments in the sun and made the Sun Belt the great league we all enjoy today.

Cheers to the founders of SBC Football. Glad App joined you nine years ago, and glad we’re sharing in success.

Thanks! We’ve had many highs, and many lows, but definitely a wild ride. The inaugural season was my Junior year, and I can honestly say, this is the strongest the conference has ever been.

Cheers guys! App and Georgia Southern were the beginning of the great turn around of the SBC. Great additions. With that said we are very proud of all of our additions and where this conference is today.

I read that title and thought we had died. Remember we are the old guard! But thanks.

Some might say stAte is doing a pretty good impression of dead. This conference has turned into something, hasn't it? Proud of all the members. And I hope some day we beat the snot out of all of you on the gridiron.

It’s been a long ride… tho we might not have officially joined till 2004 we were playing a full SBC schedule since 2001 as an independent.

And I believe the best is yet to come.

It’s a culture that we have all created that has made what the SBC is today. We must NEVER lose that chip on the shoulder mentality. I also feel in this success we are currently experiencing we must remain humble. That is truly, IMO, the mantra of the SBC. “Humbly beating your ass”
