"Man Cave" lineup for September 23, 2023 Games
Well here we go. People are saying this is a great weekend of CFB action so I am eager to partake. Here's what I will be watching.

BTW - B1G news! As part of a cable package to get NFL "RedZone", I also got subscriptions to the BTN and PACN, so for the first time I can watch games on those channels. Anyway ... once again, don't trust me on the times and channels, I could be wrong so double-check with other sources. And sadly, I don't think I actually get any 4K broadcasts of games. So that's listed more for bragging, LOL.

What are you watching?

Early Evening

I might use my laptop this Saturday because of Iowa/Penn State and Ohio State/Notre Dame at the same time! Colorado at Oregon and Mississippi/Alabama will both be good games. We'll see if good Clemson shows up vs. Florida State.

That entire lineup is strong. Even Cal-Washington is of interest, if only to see if UW van drop 70 on Cal on their way out the door.

I think I saw somewhere that there are 9 games total between ranked opponents. So 18 out of 25 ranked teams are playing another ranked team.

At quick glace of the Man Cave Lineup roster ... LOTS of good games. I might actually feel a bit guilty for watching Vanderbilt vs. Kentucky 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (given how many high-profile contests are being played during that time slot).

Question for Quo: What is the single-most unusual item (for example, wall art, accessory, rug, chair, etc.) found in the QV Man Cave?

South Carolina vs Mississippi State

These two SEC teams are not ranked and have shown their vulnerabilities. Nevertheless, it should be a good game to watch as a spectator. South Carolina is favored, but which team may get-it-together will be interesting.

I like your lineup Quo, one quibble, I would move the OSU vs WSU game up to the 50" in your early evening games. I think that one is going to be pretty entertaining. 04-cheers

Over Iowa-Penn State and Ohio State-Notre Dame?

Hey, you better get used to your new conference mates!

I would say it is a wall art piece my wife put up. She has something called a "Hermes scarf", and instead of wearing it, she spread it out and had it framed. It does look nice, but not something I would ever have put up, LOL.

BTW, my wife decorated the whole house, save for my office. I love that she did. Love living in a feminized house, LOL.

I understand that, I will definitely be keeping an eye on it, because of the PAC2 remainder implications there.

I just think Penn State - Iowa is a bigger game, and I live in Louisiana so am partial to the LSU - Arkansas quasi-rivalry.

No not over Ohio State and Notre Dame, but yes over Iowa vs Penn State. I have a lot of respect for my new conference mates, and I'm sorry but Iowa football is boring. If we are talking entertainment value, and I think that what Quo is doing, OSU vs WSU will be a lot better game to watch IMO.

If you had YouTubeTv you could save yourself a lot of time. You can watch 4 games at once on the same screen. This is the first season I’ve had the Multi-view and I’ve watched more football than ever.

I always enjoy the "Man Cave" lineup that Quo puts together each week. I think this week I would move the Iowa-Penn State game to the 15" laptop and move the Oregon State-Washington State game to the 50" 4K TV. I think Penn State is going to blow them out. Iowa is not a good offensive team and Penn State is good defensively. I don't think they can keep up offensively with Penn State on the road. The Hawkeyes are 14-point underdogs and I think Penn State will easily cover that at home.

That's an awesome feature, four games on a screen. But I am not sure my old eyes could work with that, the smaller screens for each game. :)

FWIW, and I should have said this earlier, this lineup is definitely not set in stone. It's a "starting lineup". If Penn State does start to blow Iowa out, then I will likely demote it to a smaller screen, or replace it entirely with a game not listed, and if Wazoo vs OSU is exciting, move it up to a bigger screen, etc. I make those kinds of adjustments all the time.

And about Penn State, I think they are really good this year and could well end up in the playoffs for the first time. They might be the best team in the B1G. Kind of flying under the radar even at #7, because Michigan and Ohio State get all the B1G attention.

Very cool on the scarf wall art. I have a bodhran (a Celtic hand drum) on a wall. Of course, I have neither a wife (yours sounds wonderful, Quo) nor a man cave. And that could be viewed as a positive or a negative, in my case.

Props for deploying the term "damsel" on this board before Uncle Dazzy did so. Why I've never thought of using that word in the past ... maybe I'm slipping.

Strong worthsmithing, my fellow UNC fan.
