I think Gonzaga joins the MWC+ Oregon State and Washington State if it's in the MWC or some remade PAC 12.
14 for basketball is less valuable than it might seem.
If you have 7 pairs, having three playing at home, and four on the road does not work. You could have one pair playing each other, but that is only one game that week, unless you force them to double up.
With 13, you can have the odd-man out (Temple) play against another pair.
Friday: Temple @ Wichita State
Sunday: Temple @ Tulsa
Tuesday: Tulsa @ Wichita State
or:
Friday: UNT @ Temple
Sunday: UTSA @ Temple
Tuesday: UNT @ UTSA
For that odd pair it gives them a option for a late season ooc game with conferences with odd teams. Hell if AAC gets back to 14 maybe have the MWC 14 or whatever they're called have late season ooc games during weeks were 1 pair plays only 1 game. Whoever they're scheduled with they play the team at the other court next season. Basically first season could be Memphis At Gonzaga and year 2 is Gonzaga at Memphis.

Although the American will approach both MW and A-10 schools, the AAC will fail to add any additional schools.
The drama out west will ultimately end up like most think it will: OSU and WSU will invite all of the MW programs into the Pac-12, thereby dissolving the MW.
Seeing the lengths Stanford and Cal went to to stay in the major leagues, Gonzaga takes a hint and joins the Big East.
The WCC is up. The league adds Grand Canyon and Seattle to get back to 10 members.
Out east, realignment bubbles over again: the A-10 adds Charleston (thanks, trilly) to get to 16 members.
This leaves the CAA with 13 members. Although they previously didn't want to be seen as the bad guys, Howard jumps into the pool to become the CAA's 14th member.
This leaves the MEAC with an existential crisis. Three MEAC schools find an immediate life raft in the SWAC who invites NC Central, SC State, Norfolk State in addition to Tennessee State from the OVC.
This leaves the SWAC with 16 members. The OVC is down to 10.
The remaining MEAC members are Coppin State, Morgan State, UMES, and Delaware State. Seeing an opportunity to pounce, the NEC invites all four.
As of 7/1/25, this leaves Division 1 with 363 schools, 134 FBS schools, 9 FBS conferences, 3 FBS independents, 129 FCS schools, 12 FCS conferences, and 1 NCAA independent.
363 and 134? Wow, talk about bloat.

Jaguars may actually leave which would be unbelievable to see an NFL city fail but if anywhere other than STL could do it, it would be Jacksonville. JAX is a suburb of ATL and unnecessary. Khan is originally from STL and loves London as well. Carolina could be in trouble as well. Pro sports need to stop overexpanding in the South.

Really???? Jacksonville a suburb of ATL?? That's like saying that San Francisco is a suburb of Los Angeles!!! Do you think San Francisco is a suburb of Los Angeles, Scoochpooch??
Edit: now that I got that out of my system, I think the real reason why Jags might be looking to move is, one, I think Khan was born in London, and two, the people of Jacksonville don't want to give him an immense, expensive stadium. It has nothing to do with the South whatsoever, IMO. The only rrason that the Raiders were able to get the stadium/dome that they got is because Las Vegas is obscenely wealthy--think Dubai wealthy!! Chicago would be hard pressed to keep up with Las Vegas in terms of wealth, IMO.

Every city is a suburb of Chicago, doesn't everyone know that? At least that's what Harry Carat believed in.
In all seriousness, the only acceptable location for the Jaguars to go if Jacksonville refused to provide money would be London.

Can't see the NEC taking 4 MEAC schools if the opportunity presents itself. Two yes but not four. Delaware St and Morgan were the ones they were rumored to be interested in after Stonehill was added.
Norfolk would get multiple offers from conferences (not just the SWAC in my opinion) if the MEAC implodes like the PAC did.
