Bout damn near froze to death watching the Dukes beat up on the Tiggies!! Coldest regular season game I can remember. Some of the playoff games over the years have been doozies cold wise also, Montana and SHSU being prominent ones.

Brian

Two of the Frisco games were brutally cold. The first Frisco trip, we were tailgating at 7 AM in 11 degree weather. Our beers were freezing in our hands. As I recall, the second Natty against Youngstown was seasonably pleasant. Parts of the third Natty against the smelly Bisons was horrible. Freezing rain and ice, especially halftime. Our beards were frozen. We looked like this....

The 1st Frisco trip was vs YSU.

That was cold but for some reason I felt like the Wofford, Nova, Montana stretch was increasingly from week to week the coldest games I've even been to. Maybe it was just that P Lot was unbearable.

I made it to those three as well, little bit colder each game, but that Montana game just went to my bones cold, especially out in the parking lot prior to the game. Once in the stadium I stopped shaking.

From before the Morehead opener the winter/spring 2021 season:
Quote:The coldest HOME kickoff temps in JMU history, according to according to games stats off of JMUsports:
1. 26 degrees, 2016 quarterfinals vs SHSU.
2. 30 degrees, 2008 semis vs Montana.
3. 32 degrees, 2019 semis vs Weber.
4. 33 degrees, 2017 quarterfinals vs Weber.
5. 35 degrees, 2008 quarterfinals vs VU.
6. 36 degrees, 2019 quarterfinals vs UNI.

Course the above only gives kickoff temps, not end of game and/or windchill. All of those games were evening/night, and most the temp dropped as the game went on.

Looks like the western teams bring their weather with them. Of course, the real answer is that playoff games are played later in the season.

I went to both the SHSU and the Montana games, I couldn't care less what the actual temperature was, that Montana game, cold cut right through me. SHSU didn't have that same feel. The other game that was brutal outside pregame was the Frisco Youngstown game. All the games were no where near as cold feeling once inside the stadium.

The Natty at Frisco against YSU was cold, something like 18F at kickoff. At the end of the game my legs were almost frozen from about the knees down and I could hardly walk for a good to 10 to 16 minutes until the blood started flowing again. Was well worth it though!!
