- Liberty has won 8 or more games every year they have been fully FBS.
- Liberty beat four Power 5 teams (Arkansas, VTech, Syracuse, and BYU, and had one point losses to NC State and Wake Forest.
- Liberty has an above average athletic budget for the AAC.
- Liberty's facilities are easily good enough for the AAC.
- Liberty would have 3 local rivals in East Carolina, Navy, and Charlotte.
- Liberty's other sports teams are good. Baseball, Softball, and field hockey have bene nationally ranked at times, and women's soccer is currently getting votes for being ranked.
- Liberty is a private college like Rice, SMU, Tulsa, and Tulane, so the AAC is a much better fit for them than the Sun Belt.
- Liberty's market size in Lynchburg is 71st out of 210, not great, but still above average.
For all these reasons, I think the AAC is a near perfect fit for Liberty.
