I'm guessing NBC can hardly wait until 2024 when they get more options. Evening prime time slot:
TN-Florida 5.31 million ESPN
Pitt-WVU 2.41 million ABC
BG-Michigan 1.32 million BTN
Syr-Purdue 1.25 million NBC
BYU-Arkansas 1.08 million ESPN2
NIU-Nebraska .91 million FS1
Akron-UK .12 million ESPNU
JMU-Troy .08 million NFL

Just shows how undervalued Western Football has been - and a self-full filling prophecy.

Networks don't invest in it, don't promote it, give it poor promotion. East Coast doesn't bother to tune in.

No one ever gets this level of promotion. This is an exception to the rule.

Lead-In Promotions and Ads:
Fox's Big Noon was on location
ESPN's Gameday was on location
60 Minutes did a feature and had commercials all week
Aflac commercials with Coach Prime
KFC commercials with Coach Prime and Shaduer
Bose commercials with Shaduer Sanders

It won't be easy to replicate and may never happen again. Coach Prime has completely saturated the exposure.

The Travis Hunter delayed hit was certainly a discussion point nation wide.

yes-

I was guessing about 3.1M. That's both amazing and absurd. 03-lol

5M Viewership is absolutely remarkable. I don't think a team as ever had 3 Consecutive Weeks in the Regular Season with Viewership above 5M.

4M Viewers is the benchmark I am most familiar with for P5 teams.
(For Example: FSU used their number of 4M viewership games as a leverage point recently in the ACC unequal revenue share debate)

4M is impressive but I think Alabama and Ohio State are fairly consistently over 4M.

Last year both Ohio State and Alabama had multiple weeks of back to back over 5M Viewers. Neither of them had 3 consecutive regular season games over 5M.

Coach Prime at Colorado:
7.3M Week 1
8.7M Week 2
9.3M Week 3 (EDIT 9/19)

Can Coach Prime bring in a 3rd consecutive week of over 5M?
- ESPN Gameday at Colorado
- Fox Big Noon Kickoff at Colorado
- Coach Prime will be featured on 60 Minutes this Sunday
UPDATE: Yes, Colorado successful had a 3rd consecutive week of over 5M.

How Long will the Viewership Streak Continue?

Personally I just hope Fresno can avoid going up against Coach Prime and his Circus every week. I am a big Fresno fan and even I was switching over to watch Colorado-CSU which was way more interesting than watching Fresno shut out ASU.

I expect the streak to die now that they got blown out.

Fun while it lasted

To be fair, a number of the viewers for that BTN game were Buckeyes fans who saw the early score and wanted to tune in just in case it was another App State game for that That School Up North.

Yes, especially as their next game seems more likely to be a repeat of the blow out than another upset. But it'll still draw far more viewers than a similar game would have drawn last year.

After this weekend, why in the world are they putting USC vs Colorado on National TV?

USC on National TV used to be a regular occurrence. Caleb Williams is still the Heisman Favorite.

FOX is trying to pump them up for the Big 10 move. Expect the New Big 10 teams to get a lot of the major time slots for the Pac-12 this season.

Much of the hype surrounding CU was their 3 high octane wins, but that regularly happens with other teams without boosting them to peak-Alabama levels of eyeballs. Deion is the primary driver of this ratings bonanza, he's still there, and people will still tune in to watch and see how his team recovers, or hate-watch to see if USC can drop 70 on them. Either way, CU is still a VERY interesting team right now.

The slot was picked before the Oregon Drubbing when Colorado was 3-0 and coming off good ratings.

USC is ranked in the top 10 and people still can't stop taking about Colorado, so why wouldn't they put the on national tv?

Because a lot of the eyeballs from weeks 0-4 were there hoping to see an arrogant black man humbled. And they’ll tune in again week 5 and beyond for more of the same.

This sort of crap starts arguments where none existed previously. There are plenty of arrogant white, brown, asian, etc etc guys who people would tune in to hate watch, too. Perhaps people just don't like arrogance, regardless of the color of the perpetrator's skin?

That's amazing. 35-0 at halftime and they still had 10 million. They beat Ohio St.-Notre Dame.

And they were opposite an Alabama game and another Pac game with UCLA-Utah.
