They were talking on the phone for 30 minutes every week for months and she was accepting gifts from him. Seems it was more than just a professional relationship. He may be a scum bag or maybe she set it all up for a big payday.
Either way he should be (and will be) fired.

But this is still extremely embarrassing and a bad period for the school yet again. They will lose players in the near term. And I’m sure some admins might lose their job. They new the whole story awhile ago and instead waited to react. The school has a long history of this.
From everything i've read, they were unable to react publicly because it was a Title IX investigation. Once the accuser took the story public by sending it to USA Today, the school was able to take proper action.
The investigation concluded in July and a hearing is in October. The school knew everything back in July that they know now. They chose not to act back in July. Instead they act the day after a published article. They should have suspended him in July and just said he’s on leave (private matter).
That's not how a Title IX investigation works. The school isn't doing the investigation. Title IX lawyers are.
Yeah they did a terrible job during the press conference explaining that.
Agreed

Yeah they did a terrible job during the press conference explaining that.
And most media outlets took that lack of information and ran with stories devoid of facts about how Title IX investigations work and the strict confidentiality requirements.

They have strict confidentiality requirements until plaintiffs such as Brenda Tracy provide 1,200 pages of documents to USA Today for their eventual reporting.
