IF?

Despite all the "doubting Thomas's"--this is a Done Deal.

Posters "debating" this are Not looking at how Many sides stand to gain.

This seems to be the case. If this thing wasn't going to happen, it would have fallen apart by now.

I strongly disagree. I think that there's a decent chance that it happens, but that chance alters significantly after Nov 14 if WOSU ruthlessly raid the top of both the AAC and MWC. What are the odds of that? I don't know, but they're a whole lot higher than 0. Would Army and Navy both look to jump (football only) to a 2Pac that added Boise, SDSU, Fresno, AFA, Tulane, Memphis and UTSA? I think they might, and I think that Conference would be head and shoulders above any other g5. ESPN would certainly be interested in it. It might even get a bit of special treatment in the next CFP agreement.

I think it is far more likely that the PAC2 fail to keep the PAC brand alive and are forced to join the MWC.

The commissioners and AD's know more about how this is shaping up than random message board posters. So, if the AAC and Army are still reporting positive negotiations, then there isn't a pause while they wait to see what the PAC2 will do.

RE: Army to AAC gaining momentum?
I concur, I think the Pac 2 and MW tie the knot for 2024. The Pac will be the legal successor in the merger, but will lose P5 status. The impending loss of power conference status makes it unattractive for anyone to jump from the AAC. With six of the nine conferences having an autobid to the CFP, there is no incentive for further consolidation.

Army eventually settles down with the AAC.
