"Georgia State is comfortable where we are (in the Sun Belt.)"
Also some other interesting notes from the halftime show.
- Portal is awful for college football, it teaches the wrong values. It's no longer about building programs. The outside voices, 3rd party agents poaching your roster, contacting your kids unofficially is the real world we live in.
- He's opposed to realignments that destroys tight geographical footprints. You're not going to charter private planes for the Olympic sports. Volleyball, golf, water polo, tennis, swimming, diving, track, these students will be squeezed to travel via commercial economy methods and stuck in long-distance travels instead of attending classrooms.
Aaaahhhhhh Grasshopper . . .
Your AD appears to be verrrrry Wise . . .

I think contextually, the reason I started this thread with you and Texas State is because of all the chatter going on outside of our borders about y'all.
Your post and others from your school and Texas State fans are giving us a lot of confidence, that we're on the right track.
I do believe our leadership is perfectly content with the Sun Belt. From risk assessment standpoint, there's no reason to gamble when SBC gives less travel, stability, and solid revenue model.

It would have to be really lucrative sweetheart deal.
At minimum, AAC has to offer a deal where GSU is not losing money to switch from one G5 to another. AAC needs to offer supplementary compensations during the 24 months of transition period to offset any lost revenue. Even then, there is no promise of long-term stability and not an easy decision to make.
