Dilfer is a new coach and doesn’t know you can’t play the UAB deep bench until the last possession, so he mixes in lots of young talent throughout Q4 to see how they perform. The opponent moves the ball a bit more than the first 45 min. Final 41 - 13.

And a good time is had by all and most decide to come back, and bring a friend next game. 23,000 in attendance on a beautiful Thursday night. Hope I’m low.

Nostra-Damous on half time score? Actually, Damous looked very good in the first half. Good catch and runs and some solid blocking by our TE.

Offense looks encouraging. Defense looks less prepared and is missing a LOT of tackles. Tightened up a bit in second quarter.

I know it is harder said than done, I suppose. But if we are going to play FCS, on a Thursday night, every year to start the season I wish we would just rotate between AAMU, ASU and Samford. Also, personal preference but I think it would be cool to start the season every year with a non conference rivalry game. Southern Miss or Troy. Move it to Saturday, better game, better crowd and more noise.

Also, great 1st half.

Maybe we can throw some pistol triple option in as a wrinkle later this season…?

Go for a Week 0 Saturday game. People were pretty jacked to watch Jax St-UTEP and SDSU-Ohio just to see any college football. Take advantage and get national eyeballs. Exactly what you said, I want one of Troy-South Alabama-Jax State-Southern Miss every year to have that regional/state non-conference rival. If we’re going to play a Thursday night opener, it needs to be against a mid to weak P5 team we could do a home-and-home with and get the game on TV.

Our first 15 yard penalty keeping an opposing drive alive. Leaping on the punt block wiped out a great return by Mac McWilliams and gives A&T a first down on 4th and 18

sloppy start - fumble should have been ours

Prettiest pass of the night from Zeno. 34 yard TD to TJ Jones. Just hit him in stride in the endzone.

Nice deep ball for a TD!

Sheer beauty of a TD pass. Loved seeing Trent single out the tight end Payne and give him a big hug and encouragement even though he wasn’t the TD recipient, just doing his job. Nice to see how much he’s looking at on the field.

AJ Brown just got trucked by their 5'9 225 RB and got knocked out of the game.
