D1 win over NIU in five sets. Good start!

Chicago State has now won the last 3 versus Northern, going back to 2018. The last time Northern Illinois has beaten Chicago State in the sporadic rivalry, is 2010.

The 2 new Polish players appear to be very solid adds. Lagida was second in blocks after Yanlis Feliz, and Zagumny lead all players in assists, with 45. Very nice performance for 2 brand new players. Bodes extremely well for the season.

After this 3-2 win in DeKalb, Chicago State will host NIU this Sunday to go for a sweep.

Northern was 17-11 last season.

Match was moved back to the NIU Convo @ 6 p.m. Sunday for reason not reported.

CSU looked tough to play on Friday. Kudos.

NIU is 0-2 after 3-1 loss to Illini on Saturday.

FYI: NIU has a new head coach, Sondra Parys, former Loyola assistant.

Where does Coach keep coming up with these good young players?!

Friday’s contest was a close one. It was awesome to see the Cougars pull that one out. The newcomers have been very impressive so far.
