RE: MAC BB SCHEDULE ... no rivalry games to end the season!!!
Did anyone else have an issue trying to buy season tickets online? I tried to buy ST just for the freebie ring even though I won’t be able to make the games, I planned on donating the tickets. Online I was seeing the option for ST and click on it and it would indicate “There are no events or items on sale at this time”. I emailed the ticket office and went back and forth trying to explain it, they kept directing me back to the same link that didn’t work. Finally somebody else from the office responded, I replied and then didn’t hear back for weeks, was given the same directions. I’ve tried different computers and browsers, no luck, you’d think somebody in the office would just pick up a phone and say I put the order through for you. Incredible how inept things are that I can’t even buy tickets that won’t be used, it’s free money for the department. We’re a mid major program that is operated less efficiently than some high schools.

Several years ago, before they went to divisions, the schedule had Akron and Kent playing only once. At that time, you played most teams twice but a few teams only once. After complaints the MAC changed the schedule to have them playing twice. I don't mind football seasons ending with a rivalry games, but in the situation where the basketball conference tournament starts almost immediately after the regular season, I would prefer the two big rivalry games being played closer to the middle of the season. That's just me.

Its a tough turnaround time as a fan. We get to celebrate beating them in OT this year, then it gets erased by Monday's nerves of the tournament starting.

Not to beat this topic to death, but since conference tournaments began in basketball, I believe it's better for the players and especially for the fans to have more space between a big rivalry game and a possible rematch in the tournament.

I agree with Muskrat. In the MAC there are few true "rivalry" games. How does the league make a rivalry game for Ball State? Northern Ill? Buffalo? Even the Miami /Ohio rivalry has died off. Kent/Akron and BG/Toledo are the only true rivalries in this league.

It has? that's news to us OHIO fans. thanks for letting us know! lol

LOL, yeah, I think Ohio-Miami, and CMU-EMU fans would have something to say about "no" rivalry games being played on the last day of MAC play.
