The Sun Belt Doesn't Lose to the FCS (Anymore)
Since the Sun Belt lost a discouraging three games to the FCS in 2017, the SBC has lost just one to the junior division – Texas State to Incarnate Word. Howlraiser tracks down the most recent FCS loss of every Sun Belt team.

2017 was great for Troy, disappointing for the SBC, lol. Also, Southern Miss. Wow.

USM lost to NLU in 1987, when NLU went on to win the D-1AA national title. USM went on to fire its coach, Jim Carmody. Carmody also lost to NW La in 1984 and LaTech in 1982 and both were 1-AA. However, he beat Bear Bryant in his last game in Tuscaloosa in 1982. In 1983, he beat Ole Miss and Miss. State in back to back weeks by a combined score of 58-13. In 1984, before he lost to NW La, he beat Ole Miss in the last meeting between USM and OM. Carmody was an enigmatic coach, to say the least.

App was FCS in 2013 for the UCT loss, but the team lost to Liberty in 2014, back when Liberty was FCS and App wasn't.

UCA....beginning of the end. Anderson lost a lot of support. He still won afterwards but that started the fan disappointment.

That might've been the only game he won and we'd been stuck with him for another season.
