That's right at 1000 more than last season. We sold out the South Alabama game which is our FW game about month ago. All other games are right at the stadium limit with scattered seats all around. A lot of our fans have been buying tickets from the visiting team's ticket office as that has been the only way to get a couple tickets together.
Must be nice.
I just looked at your schedule, in particular the OOC, you have the opportunity to get off to a great start. Your first five are winnable. Scheduling Minnesota is good as long as you go up there and win, but our fans want an easy travel for our money grab game. We impress the opposing team's ticket office and they are almost always a game we have a some hope of winning. UVA, UNC, VA Tech, Maryland are the next four seasons. These games do more for selling season tickets than do your actual home games. Minnesota is too far, so you dang better go win it. Buffalo is a nice OOC opponent, but they are so far from you guys, it's got to be difficult to get your fans pumped up about it. Go win a bunch of games, especially in the beginning and your numbers will go up next season. Don't I make it sound so easy? LOL
That's not really how fan support at Louisiana works, especially with LSU being right accross the swamp.
It is tough on you guys being smack dab in the middle of SEC country. However, some of those SEC teams can be taken down or at least made a good game of. Your fans need to be able to walk out the gate of a P5 game believing they could have won "if".

I think we will be 7-1 going into the South Alabama game. This team will be as good as the coaching staff is. We are still really talented.

The Cajuns fall so far short of that it’s embarrassing. There’s no easy solution for that either. The administration is in a tough spot.
This appears to be the case with App. We have a little over 10k season tickets, well over 10k in average student attendance, which leaves around 10k for GA. That being said, these numbers equal an uncomfortable amount of people in KBS. When these numbers equate to 35k to 40k for marquee games, it's a frightening amount of people.
Our student turnout continues to be strong. What are the other student averages around the SB?
Our students show up and the University Police kick them out. Then the University bans them from tailgating. Then allows them back, just in a different location. It’s a very poor way to build your future fan base.
Oh man, your admin has got to do something about this. Those students want a big party on Saturday afternoon. That's the one time our security is almost too relaxed. At our home games we have a lot of different parking areas. Do all the drinking you want in those areas, but you have some friends in another lot and you want to go over to them, security stands where you'd leave the lot with a bunch of trash cans. People get to them and simply chug down their beer toss the bottle in the trash and keep walking. Security won't allow carrying a drink from one lot to another. That's about all the resistance anyone runs into at JMU.
The Conference Office has warned GaSo and Louisiana that our student sections may be forced to relocate. Too many accusations of poor behavior. Specifically throwing beer or spitting on players/coaches.
IMHO if the students don’t use racial slurs, spit or throw drinks on players and staff then anything goes in the student section. For those who do spit or throw things they should be suspended from the university for a semester.

Our closest P5 teams are LSU (won’t schedule us), Ole Miss, Miss St, Arkansas, Houston(won’t schedule us) and TCU.

I don’t want to know what our total is…I’m afraid I be very disappointed. We’ve been bad for 3 years so it’s to be expected.

You won't catch stAte students doing that. Because, well, they don't come to the games. Sigh.
