Chicago State has some pretty good talent this year. While last year they struggled quite a bit in the conference, I think they’ll be atleast a couple more spots up (5-6). We’ll see if I still think that after their first couple regular season games.

Josh, not sure if you went back into any past posts, but here is a little preview I did of the teams in the OVC. This is how they did last year. I think there are more wins in this league for the Cougars than some might expect. Upper half is a reasonable goal IMO. The teams just aren’t that great and Chicago played a fairly tough schedule last year.

Last season, Houston Christian was 5-8-6, with 1 win the WAC.
Incarnate Word was 2-13-1 as an Indy
Liberty was 3-6-6 overall, with 1 ASUN win
Lindenwood was 3-11-1, with 2 wins in the Summit
SIU-E was 5-9-2, with 2 wins in the Missouri Valley
Southern Indiana was 2-12-3 with 2 Summit League wins
Eastern Illinois was 1-12-3 and winless in the Summit

Last season the Cougars beat St Thomas, who finished ahead of USI, Eastern Illinois and Lindenwood in the Summit League race.

The only head to head competition between Chicago State and ‘23 OVC opponents was a road tie as Southern Indiana.

I’ll need to get caught up on some of the prior posts for sure. But based on what you listed, that makes me a bit more optimistic. The MAC does definitely a much better overall conference with the likes of Akron and WMU.
