Savage interview by Terrence Oglesby for "The Field of 68" website. For anyone who doesn't know - Oglesby is a former Clemson player who has been doing a lot of TV broadcaster work in the SoCon in recent years.

Cliffs?

-Team is ahead of where they thought they would be given so many new guys
-Seymour and Asamoah impressed in summer period, but that was expected since they're the oldest guys
-Haven't really worked on transition defense yet
-Still can get more consistent attacking rebounds (chalked that up to fatigue with so little subbing)
-Ilic has lost weight, DJ Hughes went from 12% body fat to 9%, Jadyn Parker has added muscle
-Loves the character and commitment in the room, said that will be tested when minutes and roles get doled out. Team can't let petty stuff tear them apart.
-NIL is on his radar; knows we need to do more, but not dwelling on it. They lost out on guys because of it, but it also helps them filter prospects who are more concerned about money than fit
-The Orioles are at home shortly after the recruiting period opens in September, so he and Hugley may be recruiting the DMV for a bit 03-lol

Thanks for the info. Speaking with Savage in person, this guy gets it! He knows how to recruit, and I think he will build a good thing here in JC.

GO BUCS!

Schedule related, he also mentioned the MTE is about 95% ready to be announced

He is working on a home game with a regional opponent who "we used to play in conference" ... I am speculating and hoping.. Davidson??

I was guessing Charleston but could be Davidson. Coach Savage really gives me a lot of confidence and makes me really look forward to this season coming up!

Davidson, Charleston, Marshall etc. would be really nice. But remember, it could also be Belmont, Lipscomb, Upstate, or Kennesaw.

Several years ago the sky was falling and no recruit would even consider stepping foot on campus. Rather than challenge those effusive players, some of you decided to denounce the area as nothing but a racist foothold. It only goes to show you our University and boosters are bigger than your sanctimonious opinions.

My first thought was Marshall, but I guess it could be Davidson. It's not App, since that has already been announced.

Savage also said Delaware backed out last minute, so it sounds like there are a few moving parts to the schedule.

I'd be fine with any of the teams mentioned really.. kennessaw and upstate, not really, but a d1 home game is hard to come by these days
