About as bad of start as possible for the Big 12. Baylor got smacked around at home by Texas State. Texas Tech lost at Wyoming. WVU got blown out. TCU lost at home. No notable wins.

Then why do so many of our posters seem to quake in fear of our conference schedule?

UC looked good, as did Oklahoma, Iowa State, Texas, Kansas State. BYU, Oklahoma State and Houston looked iffy.

Future members Utah, Colorado and Arizona looked good, with Arizona State iffy.

Exactly.

The "we'll only get 4-6 wins" crowd doesn't realize that we're no that far off from anyone in the conference.

For gosh sakes, mighty Oklahoma's QB is freaking Dillon Gabriel.

i can't think of a program that gets so much unearned credit than Coog high.

i'll speak only on my behalf but i was wary of the talent gap in some areas (and still am). i remember watching Baylor's DL, perhaps against Ok St., and thinking about how badly they are going to gash our OL. We had a staff change, a change at key positions (QB) in addition to our normal draft attrition. There was enough unknowns on our side of the ball that it gave me pause. We're largely through week 1 and while i feel better (having only listened and not watched the game), the game against Pitt will be far more telling about where we are.

He's a great QB until defenders start making contact, and then he becomes very average.

Every game UCF lost with Dillion is where he had multiple INTs with pressure in his face.

Kansas taking it to the illini early, up 14. Never know how bad the illini are in reality but the line was around -3.5 irrc.

RE: 2023 College Football Season Thread
That was an entertaining game to watch last night and I'll now enjoy B12 over B10, head to head, anytime.

As an aside, I'm always amused at how many schools now covet black uniforms. Kansas fans did a good job with their "blackout" and of course it sells merchandise for the school. We're just fortunate to wear the black most every game. And, perhaps because of red and black Texas Tech in the conference, UC seems to be emphasizing the black and white look even more as we enter the B12, which is fine with me.

Wisconsin twitter is in full meltdown as Braelon Allen touches the ball 4 times so far. Only had 1200 yards each of the last two seasons.
