Ugh, this has been highly frustrating to watch.

Stanford gets a second goal, there was a brilliant scissor back heel on the assist that was a rather remarkable.

2-0 Stanford with half an hour to play.

Within a minute, Marshall gets a shot deflected off the goal, off Pinto's head and past the keeper... and deflected off the same defender on the goal line!!!!

He's literally saved two goals from being scored by the Herd.

Heartbreaking :(

Our season will come to an end after a sloppy turnover in our backfield leads to an easy third goal.

I guess the good news is we are still a relative young team and return alot for next year. Probably will lose Bell to the pro game. Stanford was one of the only teams this year to beat us up physically.

After a dangerous play in the last 2 minutes, Godard gets his second yellow and red card ejection. That means Godard will be suspended the first game of next season.


Adjetey gets a red with a push reaction (second yellow), so Marshall's going to play with 9 men in the final 1:40. (Adjetey is out of eligibility).

Ah well. NCAAs are a crapshoot and we got a ringer.

In positive soccer news... Columbus Crew is still alive. East championship against FC Cincinnati. Never too late to hop on the Crewchoo Train, herdnation.

I see Marshall fans getting real ugly on Herd Fans. I mean, isn't that place always so dang negative!?

Feeling dejected. Really wanted to win this one. I am thankful to our soccer program and coach Grassie for providing some joy into the fanbase with something to root for.

Herdfans is a cesspool of whining. 20 years ago it was a place for students to talk about MU sports but now it is just "College Sports as replacement for pro sports" types.

I've been a lurker there for a long time, and only recently created a profile. It's constant negativity.

This was a special year. Hopefully this loss drives and fuels an even more angry and aggressive Marshall soccer team in 2024.
