Utah, would be a natural rival for BYU.

MWC has already prepared for SDSU's exit. Curious what ESPN does with the AAC if SMU leaves, considering Disney has been looking anywhere they can to cut expenses.

They'd love nothing more than to re-negotiate that AAC contract. They could save quite a few million per year.

I think the Big 12 adds Utah or an Arizona school next.

Man…just thinking about what UCF has accomplished in the last quarter century! It’s absolutely amazing! Seriously, hats off, Knights!

Wonder if the Big XII has any buyers remorse for picking up UCF and Cinci and if without them if the other 4 corners would have already jumped?

CU is a better fit for the BIG12 than PAC.

Potentially very good for the SBC. At least one more PAC school will be leaving for the Big 12. The PAC will have to raid rapidly. I think they will have to add at least SMU and SDSU from the AAC and MWC. If this goes South fast, potentially more from the MWC.

The SBC is oh so close to being a pretty definitive notch above the rest of the G5 in league depth right in time for playoff expansion.

My brother is a Baylor grad and says the other main rumor is Arizona for 14.

Wouldn't be surprised if Utah, AZ, and ASU all jump. PAC 12 circling the drain.

You know, SDSU kind of left the MWC and then ran back to the MWC. Curious if SDSU is now out.

If the Playoffs continue to be Top 6 conference champions, the PAC disintegrating could put the SBC in a position to be legitimately competing for an auto bid each season. If Colorado, Arizona, Oregon, and Washington all end up departing, I'm not so sure the PAC stays ahead of the SBC long term in football...

I doubt it. They've encroached into Big 10 territory, and they have a presence in Florida/Orlando. UCF is a pretty big deal in south and central Florida. It's a home run for Brett Yormak.

Plus he already believes in the "strength in numbers" idea.

There's no doubt the Pac-12 will survive, even if they're only left with 4 members... it's just a matter of who will they add.

Makes Gill's pointed "We're happy with the 14 we have and have no interest in adding anyone" quote from Tuesday. Considering Gill almost certainly knew this was coming, he's probably already discussed scenarios with our Presidents.

Yep, hang on and wait to see how this unfolds. It'll trickle down to the MWC and AAC for sure. I think the MWC is screwed, and the AAC may come out better. It'll depend on what the MWC loses. It could trigger Air Force and Army joining the AAC.

I think the end result will be the BIGXII adding Colorado, Arizona, Washington, and Oregon.

We know the PAC already has SDSU and SMU lined up. The rest is up in the air.

I truly think if it got to that point, Cal and Stanford would just say, “f*** it” and go Independent together before being forced to essentially join a MWC/AAC hybrid.
