Dear Brownandgoldlaker,
I listened to Dr. Allen. His defense of what he co-authored, were all the things that most of us on this site have been critical in his thinking.
As I said earlier, stating a position on the the station that supports that position, to me, gives it no credibility.
At least have an alternative point of view to challenge Dr. Allen's.

Not really. I'm curious what state his great-grandfather ended up in.

You can tell a lot of stories, and it just depends which ones you pick. I read an entire book about blacks during the Jim Crow era attempting to make a life for themselves after slavery ended but the night raids, beatings, lynchings, etc made it impossible for many of them to prosper. Many of them had to leave the state and most of their belongings behind just to survive.

Still seems like an attempt to downplay slavery, and considering the guy is known as a conservative, was at the Hoover Institute, and Fox is willing to interview him, I have to wonder what his motivations are too.

This sums it up well. If you're going to listen to an "expert" the least you could do is find one without a political axe to grind and who doesn't wear their biases on their sleeve.
