RE: Previewing UAB’s Home Schedule: Game 4 – Memphis
Quote:The game at Protective Stadium will feature one of the most unique trophies in all of college sports and one of the most unique pregame traditions with a sanctioned rib cookoff outside of the stadium. More information on the Battle for the Bones rib cookoff will be released at a future date.

We really need to be pushing this game. The city should help push this game too.
It is the revival of a great rivalry and who doesn't love a good rib cookoff?
The only con is Tennessee is at UA and Ole Miss is at Auburn. Two huge games for the schools east and west of us.
But none of those games have Dragons and Ribs

According to Dudley, the Bones were passed off to Ted in Tupelo. I believe it will be getting a much needed cleaning (and possible restoration) and then handed back to Memphis until the Battle for the Bones.

Per capita.
Unlike some larger metros Bham's reported numbers are for BHam only and do not get the benefit of the lower rates from the rest of the metro area. Metro Bham has around 50 municipalities that report their nunbers individually, if at all.

When I first saw the trophy pictures, I assumed Memphis had already conceded our 2023 game and was sending that beautiful baby back home ... where it belongs.
