Someone with more insight can elaborate but as I understood it, the new schools are basically about half the payout for the 1st couple of years, which is probably 3-4 million more per year than C-USA.

The payouts really show the emphasis on football.

Navy is a football-only member and gets $6.26 million. The majority of Navy's other sports are in the Patriot League, along with Army.

Wichita State is an everything-but-football member and gets $2.17 million.

C-USA was paying, what, $800-900k? Even at half shares for a couple of years, the C-6 will more than triple their income.
