I know this is based on prior stats, but still feel the model undervalues Amadi, and possibly others. Feel like he is going to have a big year. Really hard for any projections to be super accurate in the offseason.

I also believe Quincy is going to be better than that.

Amadi went backwords from year 2 to year 3. Less minutes and less usage and less effective. Hopefully he regains his form from prior years. I thought he had a chance to be a baby Cacok in your offense just dunking everything on pick and rolls and cuts to the hoop while offering some rim protection.

RE: 2023/24 CBB Torvik Projections
Amadi didnt develop his game. super freak athlete - but outside of put backs and break aways, didnt have any thing else to go to - probably undersized for post moves and a little late in the career to take guys off the dribble.

- seems like he had some opportunities, but fumbled some dishes - Sule dropped a bunch as well
- Matt Lewis made Amadi better and Justin suffered w/ his departure - didnt get the ball as much from Vado and Tak
- i can see Green making Amadi more of a weapon - Green takes it to the hole and dishes to Justin for the flush.
- dont seem him becoming a jump shooter - I think we have seen what he is going to be - super freak athlete - rebounds, put backs and rim rocking break aways

No way I will get season tickets based on the amount of games I would be able to attend, but I will buy some individual games as soon as they are available in the lower bowl. Last year I waited until the season and there were few, if any weekend seats available in the lower bowl.

No matter his role, Coach B is high on him and worked very hard to retain him. “Bigger” schools wanted him badly, it was a real battle to keep him. Will be an important part of our team imo.

Dunk, purveyor of all things “rim”.

RE: 2023/24 CBB Torvik Projections
Even if just projections, it's so nice to be projected in the top 100 versus the bottom 100.

Before the hire of Mark, I said there is no reason JMU should not be top 100 team on a regular basis, and we're getting close if not already there.

RE: 2023/24 CBB Torvik Projections
Perception of the program is at least changing, so that's nice.
This program was absolute garbage for so long and I feel like it is finally starting to change. It has been getting there the last few years, but for some reason this year feels like THE year it all starts coming together.
I also feel like Quincy is going to a really important factor on this team.
I'm probably setting myself up for failure, but I feel very optimistic about this team.

The interesting thing is I'm not sure Mark does not take more arrows than Lou did.

RE: 2023/24 CBB Torvik Projections
On paper, we probably have the best depth and talent in the SB which is a welcome change from where we were 10 years ago. But as a 1-bid league, all it takes is one or two injuries or bad bounces to derail the whole thing.

I'm not sure I can name our best player at this point. I'd guess it's Terrence, but I hope one of the new players exceeds him. That would mean we upgraded.....

I think that will be Quincy. I believe he is going to be a very special player for us. Edwards is going to do fine and continue to excel, but I look for Quincy to be a nightly highlight reel.
