There's good ones in Raleigh, Greensboro, and Wilmington in the state of NC. Can't think of any others.

New Bern has a good one!

Can confirm.

Saturday service can be spotty though.

Depends what you plan to fly in on. If you bring a small cadre on your G3 PITT-GREENVILLE can handle you with ease. If you are going the A380 charter route to accommodate all the CLT fans coming with you you'll have to land in Kinston and have your ground transport waiting to take you to the stadium. Most people don't realize clt is a magnanuimous dude who is loaded.

Planning on USF and possibly UAB. Never been to Birmingham. Easy drives from my home in St. Augustine.

Hope you make it! Glad to give recs if you decide to stay the weekend.

I'm planning on UAB @ Tulane. I've got a newborn and I'm really hoping to make it his first away game (though we haven't taken him to a sporting event yet and have no idea how feasible this is).

St. Louis for the Missouri game will be the only away football game I go to this year I think.

Any of y'all who are fans from old C-USA, games at UAB are going to be very different experience from Lesion Field.. Protective is very nice indeed. There are downtown hotels a couple of blocks from the stadium, or you can get a room 15-20 minutes away for less money. The only real negative is slow concessions, card only, no cash. Feel free to hit Blazertalk.com for advice on places to stay, eat, places to go. Be aware that if you do stay downtown by the stadium, while there are nice restaurants and pubs close by, they are limited and most close fairly early. There are three entertainment districts within 10-15 minutes, though.

If you are any kind of gearhead, Barber's Motorcycle Museum on I-20 just east of town is absolutely world class. The largest collection of motorcycles in the world, many old and rare examples. Also some very nice cars. He's got the biggest collection of Lotuses outside of the factory museum, including race cars.

Mother-in-law lives in Little Washington, so the ECU game will probably be bi-annual for us. Wife's aunt and uncle have a vacation home in Maryland, so going to a game in Annapolis is also eventually on the table. Would love to go down to the Swamp, but that trip could be difficult with a 6 year old and a two year old in tow.

Someone from Texas finally opened a spot in Charlotte? That's awesome! Enjoy.

Gonna have to go with eastern BBQ on this one. Yes, I'm biased. I grew up not to far from G'ville.

I'm moving to Manhattan, KS in August so the Temple at Tulsa game is certainly intriguing so long as work/my schedule allows it. Tulsa is about a 4.5 hour drive from the Little Apple.

Charlotte is slated for NMCMS in 2025 - not bad for 8- and 4-year old. Navy games are a pretty family-friendly envrionment. There is a grassy hill in the North End Zone which is a good family area - SRO tickets and there are even kid-priced in the SRO. Assuming it isn't totally packed there, kids are sliding down the hill on cardboard for the whole game (Air Force game for instance might have too many bodies to do that, but even Homecoming usually still allows it).

Toughest thing with kids will be lack of parking on the lots. There are good options (elementary school, in neighborhoods, church) that are easy walks for adults, but maybe harder with little legs.

We were supposed to play some SEC cupcake, but they played Wake Forest and we ended up with a Sun Belt cupcake.

Yes to Houston and UNT, and maybe to Tulane. Between teaching middle school math and coaching middle school football, already being a 3-hour drive away from all our home games, and family responsibilities, that's about all I can make time for.
