I know some of the info out there is pretty sketch, but I do think this one is mostly good. At least from my experience. Your mileage may vary.

So far Taj Anderson has entered from UTA. My hope is K.T. Turner has some hype to keep our core together. Maybe attract a quality PG from it to get us some major improvement.

It's going to be harder to transfer this time around especially if he goes to another D1 because the NCAA has clamped down and no more Covid stuff now. You can add Will Johnston to the portal as well... poor Figger he needs point guards badly.

Losing Will Johnston would be (will be?) a real disaster.

Being in the transfer portal is no guarantee that they will leave. The majority do, but some don’t.

As long as the WAC keeps losing its top players to the portal, it will always be fighting an uphill battle to gain national recognition. For the WAC schools that lost its head coach, it is understandable for the exodus of players. But the basketball programs that should be stable right now shouldn't be losing its top players to the portal. i.e. Freddy Hicks, Taran Armstrong, Isaiah Pope. It just sets back those programs. With Mark Madsen and Todd Simon gone and NMSU and Sam Houston now out of the conference, I see a down year for the WAC as a whole. GCU should be the odds on favorite next season. After that, it will be a tossup. Maybe the portal will help a few programs.

I have been told he is a great recruiter.

UTA's Kyron Gibson (leading scorer) and Chendall Weaver (WAC FOY) entered the portal this week.

UTA picked up a 6-8 transfer Fred Bagatskis from Ga Tech. supposed to be a really good shooter. too bad losing Weaver. I liked watching that guy play.
