They lost their starting QB, transferred to NC State. Could be a plus for you guys.

Yeah and I do expect to smoke them. I feel similarly to how I felt going in to our game at ECU in 2017. It will be an emotional game for them though as their first home game since last year's tragedy. Always hard to tell how something like that will affect a team, but it will make it a little bittersweet if we beat them like a drum on a day like that. Obviously hope none of our fans get overly obnoxious or cross any lines, especially since plenty of alcohol will always be involved on football Saturdays.

Of course being less than an hour apart tons and tons of JMU people have some UVA connection or another so the flip side is that we should be an opponent who's especially supportive on a day like that. Just always gotta hope something like that doesn't take the wrong turn once the whistle blows.

Both VT and Virginia had bad years last year. If the Herd happens to beat VT at home and JMU beats them on the road, it won't be saying much due to their poor records.. VT was 3-8 and Virginia was 3-7. But if we both lose those games....

Yeah I fully expect two SBC wins there. Hopefully very lopsided SBC wins so that it's more of a statement than some three point win over a garbage P5.

I think ODU also has a chance to beat VT again. Liberty and VT are the two games I want the butterflies to win. Wake Forest would be a bonus win.

So you're hoping that your in-state school is more classy than Marshall's in-state school...

I truly think it depends on how Brent Pry responds. He was handed a smelly bag after Justin Fuente was fired.

Virginia Tech went to a bowl game for 27 consecutive seasons until 2020. I'm sure the man is under a bit of pressure after so much success.
