Transfer portal
Only one player has entered the portal so far. The average team in D1 has almost 4, since over 1,200 players are in the portal as of today. A lot of programs have most of the eligible returners in it.

Bryce Johnson was Chicago States 4th leading scorer and played 27 minutes per game. He has already signed with Maryland-Baltimore County.

He entered a while ago and so far no others have. I feel like players who absolutely want out for sure enter as soon as they can, but who knows.

Hopefully no other players that had much playing time leave and a good core return and all improve together.

RE: Transfer portal
I wouldn't think that UMBC is that much of a step up, if any.
